This is about surprising to me. There’s very little players in the league that specialize in everything. Is it fair to say Jokic and LeBron are the closest NBA equivalents to Ohtani?

He’s going to do it many more times as well. The only thing that could stop him is if Murray starts averaging more PPG, which is unlikely imo

There is no basketball equivalent to Ohtani imo. And if there just so happened to be one it would be Giannis in the 2019-20 season. He lead his team in points, rebounds, assists and was the DPOY.

  3. Jamal will lead points this upcoming year, book it

Yeah, a basketball Ohtani would need Wilt numbers in today’s NBA plus Russell defense.

This might surprise people, but points rebounds and assists are not, actually, everything. He’s not the worst defender in the league, but he sure as hell doesn’t specialize in it.

It’s pretty hard for LeBron to out rebound a center, but also hard for a center not named Jokic to lead in assists

Jokic is such a unique player that people have to look at paradigm shifting players from other sports to compare him to.

It’s easy when you’re stat padding

Both in their primes I’m picking Jokic to build my team around

No. There is no equivalent to Ohtani, not even close. The ONLY person comparable to Ohtani in baseball literally played 100 years ago. That’s how absurd what he is doing is.

So just how difficult is pitching? Think about this, MLB used to be if you’re on the field, you hit. You play defense and you hit. But a pitcher is so important and specialized, it’s accepted that he’s an automatic out. And because he’s an automatic out, nobody wants to see them hit. And because nobody wants to see them hit, they just change the rules and say pitchers don’t have to hit anymore. That’s how specialized pitching is.

And then there’s hitting. Hitting a baseball has been said to be the most difficult thing to do in all of sports. If an 18 years old can’t play in the NBA, it’s because his body can’t compete with the men. If an 18 years old can’t play in the MLB, it’s because his skill level isn’t there. One way I spot sleepers in fantasy baseball is look for 19 years old debuting in the major league. If he’s 19 and in the major, he’s special. If he’s 20, that’s damn young. 21? That’s a pretty quick rise through the minor. Aaron Judge debuted in the major at 24 years old, by the way. That’s common. Can you imagine if a basketball player needs to be 24 before he is ready for the NBA? That’s absurd. The skills required in baseball is just that high.

Half the 1st round draft in MLB doesn’t make the major. I’m not talking about being a star. I’m talking about just making it to the major league. That’s just how big of a gap in skill level between the draft and the major.

What I’m trying to say is, hitting and pitching is so different and highly skilled, it’s basically 2 different sports. The equivalent of Ohtani is if Jokic goes play soccer and dominates as well. This is what I mean by there’s no equivalent in basketball.

Joker will be a top 10 player of all time when it’s all said and done.

  12. S13pointFIVE

He also is leading his team in partying his dick off. Record is still on going.

If it’s total points, rebounds, and assists, I think Luka is already at like 4. Would’ve been 5 out of 5 but DeAndre Jordan had more rebounds his rookie year.

Joker did it in 8 seasons, James did it in 20.

    Levels lmfao.
