So, without Dame, Miami pushes a title down the road a year at least and none of the alternatives mentioned are as good. Maybe Miami should really try harder to make the trade work and not rely on Portland getting anxious. Portland wants young first round talent and can afford to wait until the deal falls through because they are not in "win now" mode. Just push all the chips in and even find a trade partner with some high picks to add to the deal. With Dame, a title is pretty realistic. Without him, maybe not for a long time.
