The PHOENIX SUNS just BROKE BASKETBALL

Yooooooooo whats good everyone, Durag is back with another video!! It’s been a minute since I last checked in. But I’m determined to hit 500 subscribers before the start of the 23-24 season. So make sure to smash that like and subscribe button, and let me know what kind of videos you’d like to see going forward. Almost two full years have passed since I’ve been inspired to make basketball content, but the Fantastic Phoenix 4, the SuperTeam Supernova Suns (and some of these incoming rookies) have finally got me all hyped up for the 23-24 season.
Kevin Durant is a Phoenix Sun, as a lifelong fan of this team it still feels unreal, how did we go from literal goats in the gm office to the greatest pure bucket-getter of all time gracing our hardwood? THE easy money sniper is calling the valley home?

And Durant is everything he’s been said to be A living legend, a hooper to his core, whose primary focus is playing incredible basketball at the highest level. And making that shit look eeeeasy.

Trading Mikal and Cam was tough, followers of this channel know those were my guys. But the Ishbia iteration came in with hitman-like efficiency uprooting the very fabric of the team, letting go of fan favorites with so much potential and promise is only acceptable when you’re receiving a talent of KD’s magnitude.

The Suns parted ways with 2 amazing rotation players, 4 years of draft capital, and Jae Crowder for a Basketball God.
Fast forward to the postseason and we witnessed Devin Booker have the best 12-game stretch from a shooting guard since Air Jordan himself. With a Comical looking shot chart, it was clear Book was transcending in the playoffs, establishing that his name will eventually be synonymous with gods and titans like his prolific mentors. But the # other guys fell shortafter another injury-plagued and disappointing postseason the Phoenix Suns traded their own God, a point god, for DC’s Whiz Kid Bradley Beal. A deal only made possible by no trade clause shenanigans and a father-son relationship.

Jones and Bartlestein got to work immediately in free agency, gutting this roster from top to bottom and prioritizing shooting, length, and nonstop energy. The Cinderella Suns are gone. This is a team of mercenaries now.

The current goal is simple. Win at all costs.

A big 4 of Booker, Durant, Beal, and Ayton is a traveling all-star game. How do you guard just those 4 on the court at the same time?

Do you double-team KD? How about Booker? Maybe you have to leave Bradley Beal alone like teams did Shamet, Craig, and Okogie all postseason? The stress this offense can put on your defensive discipline and reaction time could be game-breaking. The names Kevin Durant and Devin Booker Speak for themselves and Beal is just two seasons removed from a 30-point-per-game season and entirely motivated to play winning basketball, there will be no “right answer” when defending this team. How do you pray to the basketball gods for help when there is one in the flesh playing for the Phoenix Suns with a Demigod at his side?

Defensively might be the most significant upgrade to this team. The versatility Slim provides as a scram switcher and low man from the weakside is miles better than the previous iteration of the Suns. From being undersized comparatively to the rest of the league Phoenix might finally force teams to alter their lineups to contend with their size and skill, a welcomed feeling.

But not everything will be a smooth and easy transition on the road to being NBA champions.

The great thing is, We’ve got two guys who turn up like Saiyans when the odds are stacked against them and Bradley Beal has always been a playoff riser. Being an underdog sits well with this group, it might be just the thing they need to lock in on the ultimate goal.

The first-ever NBA championship for the Phoenix Suns.

  1. As a suns fan since the Tyler Ulis game winner days, (miss him) this team has flipped switches left and right. Finals to getting the 2nd round syndrome and CP not having gas to push us when we needed anyone. It actually feels like one of those last stand offs in the movies where it’s do or die. Regardless of what happens, I still love this team. Love to have you back. 🙏 Also, people love to talk down on this team rightfully so, the 2-0 leads have been a reality check for how the tides can turn but saying that this team wont make this year is crazy. We are contending for a chip with a chip on our shoulders. You’re right no more Cinderella teams here. Win now or not in a while 👀

  2. We have about 2-3 seasons to make this happen. Book is now in his prime. Time to win big.
