Jeff Teague on the Bucks Nets 2021 series: “Kyrie sprained his ankle, their energy got zapped. Our energy was like this might be our chance… They probably would have swept us or we would have got 1 game… KD almost beat us by himself. If they had a healthy Kyrie we didn’t stand a chance”

I always laugh at this notion. Brooklyn accomplished nothing and yet we still hear about how they were a toe away from winning a series. Guess what, they didn’t LOL

I don’t get this mentality. Injuries happen every year and usually play a big role in how things pan out. “KD almost beat us by himself” Key word is almost. We still won. That’s like me saying we would have come back in the series against the Heat and beaten them if we only counted the first three quarters in those final games.

I’d understand if we won that year and then completely fell from grace or something but we’ve continued to look like one of the best teams in the league since then and were favorites to win it all last season.

Yup we got lucky that run that Nets were hurt and Monty is a worse coach then Bud. We would have never beaten a team like the 23 Nuggets or any LeBron Finals team or any GSW finals team.

The Bucks won Game 3 and were winning Game 4 by double digits when Kyrie got injured. So shocking that a superteam with three incredibly fragile (emotionally and physically) stars, 2 of whom repeatedly quit on their teams, couldn’t make it halfway through the playoffs.

The Bucks should make Jeff Teague give his “group project” ring to someone who actually deserves it and would appreciate it like Wes Matthews.
