  1. Hey Mike I’m really really glad you are releasing shorts ahead of videos, please continue doing this

  2. Loyalty, loyalty loyalty! This is what he gets in return sealing the deal so that loyalty is no longer a thing

  3. They're probably pissed these dudes keep doing it. AD's was years ago, KD was last year

  4. Players need to honor their contracts. They should trade Lillard to the middle of nowhere

  5. Sabotaged? It was never happening unless they figure out a really good three team trade that makes sense or Pat Riley gets really drunk and pulls the trigger on a trade. Either Miami gets Dame Lillard for cheap, or they trade their depth and future draft picks and get robbed

  6. If any player in the NBA deserves the option to be traded to the team of their choice it's dame. They wasted him and failed him

  7. I think it’s part of a bigger narrative. The NBA is trying to take some power back from the players & to set more realistic limits on player movement.

  8. How does he have any leverage? he literally signed his future with a contract, do people not know what a contract is? I hope next CBA fix this issue where players don't respect contracts anymore which they've signed. No matter what he has to say he has signed on the dot and any team can have him fined for not playing for years if that's how he wants to play

  9. There's no trade there. The only thing Miami could offer to make 4 years of Dame even close to worth trading is Bam or Jimmy. The only way for Dame to get there without one of them is implying he won't play for any of the teams with far better trade offers .

  10. Y’all really mad about dame wanting to play for the HEAT? How come he can’t have a say In where he goes but the team can trade him anytime if the real deal present itself ? Smh

  11. I think the NBA is just sick of the players forcing their way out. These guys sign super-max contracts and then throw a fit and leave. What's the point of the long term contract? Why are the owners/league giving these guys guaranteed money for 5 years when these players just leave whenever they want? And on top of that are now forcing their way to specific teams… without a no-trade clause?!? It's ridiculous and I'm glad to see the league is trying to stop this shit.

  12. That's what he gets. LeBron tried to tell him that neither the owners nor fans care about what in your best interest.

  13. NBA doesn't want to see the heat shine. Dame on the Heat makes them a top 3 team in the east. I think if Dame was on the Heat for these finals, they may have had a better chance because all those time in the games when the heat could find points Dame would've come up big. Heat already a good defensive team, and Dame would help their offense a lot.

  14. i honestly don't think it's a war on Dame per say but a war on players picking where they go.

  15. I like how this commissioner can discipline someone for choosing a team to trade to but doesn't have the balls to actually do something more serious about what jamorant has done.

  16. NBA is only stepping in because Miami’s trade package is garbage

  17. Since he’s under contract for many years he doesn’t have a say in what crap the blazers get in return, kawhi had 1 year, AD had 1 year left those were different, dame has 5 yrs left on his contract, so this is a little different , dame easily coulda got a no trade clause in the 13 years in Portland , he just didn’t ask for one, saying that I think herro Martin and 3 unprotected picks should be enough to get dame. Add some swaps in there as well. That’s not fair compensation but it’s close

  18. No it's not. It's not the same, but it can be compared to tampering. By saying what the agent said, he took leverage away from Portland. And this is coming from a Laker fan that had Big Daddy Stern say No Chris Paul + Kobe combo.

  19. Portland fan here –

Lillard asking out is fine. Saying he wants to play for a contender and even providing a list of preferred destinations is fine.

Miami’s entire strategy for acquiring Lillard is based on getting him at a relative discount as a distressed asset. That’s a problem. Demanding a trade to Miami, a team that doesn’t have the assets to pull off a deal under normal circumstances, isn’t fine. It isn’t good for Portland and it isn’t good for the league. It’s in the league’s best interest to draw that line in the sand.

An ideal scenario from my perspective as a Portland fan would be that Lillard backs off of his Miami or bust stance and provides a list instead. Portland gets fair value, Lillard gets to play for a contender.

This isn’t 2k with trade override on.

  20. Man the comments here are disappointing. It’s obvious why the league doesn’t want this. If any star player can just go around demanding to be on specific teams and invalidate free agency. It’s anti competition and it can create a lot of problems once other players start doing the same things. This shit is and should be treated with the highest level penalty because there is nothing more serious to a sport league than anti competition.

  21. The Blazers are not in the donation business. We all wish Dame the best. We would love to see the Miami thing work out. The issue though is that Miami has to come up with a way to provide a reasonable level of value. That is unlikely. It is too bad, but that is the business of basketball. So many people seem to want to make this about feelings. This is about business.

  22. the issue here is that apparently Dame's agent was telling other teams: if they trade for him they'll trade for an unhappy player.
Same what happen with the Mavs last season when Kidd said publicly that they will tank last games to get better lottery pick. Every season is obvious which team(s) are tanking, but no one says it.
That's the reason NBA stepped in.

  23. Not really sabotaging his trade, just telling everybody that if he is traded anywhere else then he can’t refuse to play well. This should’ve been done a long time ago with other superstars bulldozing their way to another team, but telling other teams that you won’t play to the best of your ability if you’re traded there is honestly bad for the league

  24. I get the frustration with Dame wanting to only go to Miami. But I think people forget that Portland has gaslit Dame for the last 2-3 years. He has been loyal to this small market team, all he asked was that they try to build a contender around him. They then sold several of their good pieces for younger pieces/picks, all while still assuring Dame that they're trying to be competitive. Then when they had the assets to make moves for a piece to put them closer to contention, they didn't. They lied to him to fill seats in their stadium. Because of Cronin's manipulation, he is now at the tail end of his prime, and has every right to demand a trade to the team of his choice where he will actually have a chance to seriously contribute and contend for a championship. And for all the blazer fans crying about them not getting a return for their franchise corner stone, you literally got one in Scoot. And Sharpe has the potential to become one too, wtf are ya'll complaining about…

  25. Its not just Dame this is bigger than Dame I believe the NBA is trying to take back more control over its players similar to how the NFL and its owners have a hold over its players when they want to leave.

  26. I dont agree only because his agents have literally been telling teams oo dont get him cause he will be unhappy do you really want that. The nba needed to say something about that also we cant act like the heat have good packages for the blazers

  27. Honestly both sides are kind of in the wrong here. On one hand, Lillard couldve walked out of Portland in FA but he wanted to get the bag and still trusted Portland to build a contending team around him. Ok i get the NBA doesnt want to build super teams anymore, but they are ok with names like Lebron, KD, and Harden forming them almost every year it feels like. Miami isnt really a super team i guess Jimmy and Bam are all star players, but i think the rest of the roster were second round and undrafted dudes. Idk its wild just get the trade over with and move on. They really making a big deal over nothing.

  28. It's looking more likely that Lillard will be playing for Portland and the beginning of the the season. Cause until we hear of Miami getting a third or fourth team involved, he is going to stat put there. Also his agent's comments have not done him any favors what so ever.

  29. As long as the heat make the deal that the blazers agree to, I don't see the problem. After all, he is still under contract. So the blazers are actually holding the Ace card.

  30. If i was dame, and i dont get traded to heat or brooklyn ill just leave the league and become a pornstar
