5-out? Didn't Diallo and Killian play with Cade during some of that stretch, or am I misremembering? Point taken though, I absolutely agree that we have to surround Cade with shooting for at least some lineups. And now we have the vets to do it.
Sasser & Monte Morris would benefit Cade getting rest.
Monty should use Cade the same way Phil Jackson used Kobe and Jordan

I think stew is a four and five but off the bench unless there is injury that forces him to start.
Step one is to never ever let Wiseman play at all.

I agree with most your assessment. But I don't think we give enough credit to the Pistons for drafting Ausur. he is the perfect fit. He cuts all ball. He can play on ball and he can take the toughest defensive assignment from Cade. I think the hard fit is going to be Ivey. But if he can fit in around Cade then they are going to be tough
You may have more intel than most but my thought is they will use Joe Harris in the lineup as a veteran floor spacer especially since Cade, Ivey, and Ausar are all below league average distance shooters. This is assuming Joe used his first healthy off season to return to form.
Offseason grade has to be on a curve: you can't expect a big name free agent to come to Detroit in the current state of the franchise. They picked up depth/tradable pieces which is all they could do. Moving Cassey out of the coaching role is a huge +; for someone who is supposed to be great at player development we saw little of it with him at the helm. Time will tell if Williams is the answer. He hasn't had a ton of success outside of coaching a very talented Phoenix team but a change at the head coach was needed. And the draft went well. Thompson will be starting before the all star break and although they do need shooting, no one below Sasser really pops in my eyes to take them over Sasser who I think will be the much needed backup PG after future moves. So, while they won't be championship contenders this season I think the Pistons had a very good offseason when you place the realistic limitations they have being a cold weather cellar dwelling team on them: B+
I'm rooting now more for you not to be grey and stressed out about the Pistons
