I think its so interesting to see if AD signs now for about half of what he can make if he made an All-NBA team. But making an All-NBA team means not just being great but doing it for 65 games a season, which he doesn't usually get to. So does he sign or not? Its a very interesting personal decision
AD is the literal backbone of the team. This team doesn't function without his defense or his offensive threat-our guards routinely get open shots as AD rolls or pops from screens. Whenever AD is off the floor our defense crumbles completely. Without AD LeBron wasn't able to carry the Lakers past the Suns a few years back. Without LeBron I doubt AD carries the Lakers past any contenders either.
We require both and right now it's AD who is up for extension.

IMO, the Lakers need to get rid of AD or add more bigs to help him. AD did very well when McGee and D.Howard were on the Lakers. AD could rest longer and it allowed to help him be more effective.
