If this is the sort of defense we can expect from JB and Hali (who still played really well) I don’t see why Trae couldn’t get an invite. I would be a little more worried about this if it didn’t look like Ant, Mikal, and JJJ were ready to give team USA all the defense they need. Will be interesting to see if it’s enough to get us back to playing that fast transition heavy offense we’re used to seeing from the national team when we face the better teams.
I can’t wait to see Cam change the casual fans perspective of him this summer. He and Reaves got a lot of “don’t deserve to be on this team” energy and I think he’ll show that he’s way more than just a shooter.
On a side note related to Reaves, it’s pretty funny watching him get the post game interview after 9 points on 8 shots. The inordinate amount of attention he receives is the actual reason why he gets hate, not because people thinks he sucks.

I feel like Brunson and Hali should be switched. Brunson is score-first and would be better playing with the less talented guys off the bench where he could take that scoring load. And Hali works really well with Ant in the starting lineup

This team USA has some of the most defined roles of any incarnation ever. Hopefully goes really well for them. They played very well tonight after settling down. The Mikal/BI half court trap on the pick n roll ball handler was sick to see.

Idk if i’m just basketball starved but that was a great game. Missed seeing these guys play. Loved seeing the Ant and Hali backcourt. Everytime I see Ant play I like his game more and more, his defence is legit and it feels like Hali can sleepwalk to 10+ assists.

All of the roster dooming was hilarious. This is easily the most talented team in the World Cup by a mile. The only thing that could hold them back is lack of chemistry or coaching. Or some Superman carry job from Luka.

Very different team from the last WC team. They will have their battles (especially with bigger teams, but some big guys are sitting this one out), but the roster makes sense. France doesn’t care because they have the auto bid (host country), so it’s up to another country to try to take them out and make them work for it a bit.
