I love Bosh and love what he did for our franchise, but I think Wade + Melo lead us to a ring in 2011 despite LeBron’s struggles

I doubt it would

Melo ego wouldn’t work on that team
waffle_moon
Idk man. Melo has a big ego. He would probably be frustrated for not having the ball on his hands on every play. He wants to be #1. Prime Melo won’t let this happen. I also see him forcing a lot of ISO plays.
He got jealous at Jeremy during the Linsanity period, imagine him sharing the ball with Wade and LeBron? So I doubt. If Melo would take a step back and be a spot-up catch and shoot scorer, then maybe they get 1.
But I’d still pick Bosh any day, reliable on the defensive/rebounding end and can score when needed. Bosh-Wade-LeBron has that perfect balance of everything you need in a Big 3.

Without bosh they wouldn’t have won any rings
ANP06
Bosh was arguably the most important part of that trio. Without a doubt a better functioning team with him over Melo.

It wouldn’t have been
Breen: “Rebound Bosh, back out to Allen..”
It would’ve been
Breen: “Rebound Melo–”
Melo: gets caught on basket mic per usual with the, “Oh.. SHHHHIT!” during the putback and we’d still be down by 1.
TrickstarCandina
Maybe we win against the Mavs but lose vs Spurs the following year
therealunbread
I don’t think you guys go to 4 straight with Melo
KayRay1994
We win 2011/12 but lose 13/14…. same amount of rings but when it comes to “weight” 2013 matters way more than 2011
amlanding20
They’d figure it out. But Bosh deserves proper credit for not only humbly falling in line as the third option (but ready every fucking time his number was called) and for transforming his game to be what the team needed, someone to stretch the floor.
d00knation
Who’s guarding Kevin Garnett to bury the Celtics that first year? Exactly.
Cocknballtorture90
I mean I’d think we’d still win something, but our team had some sorry big men in the early 2010’s so bosh was pivotal for us. He had to play out of position and run the 5 because of that reason.
Simple-Ad-7866
Melo is a bum for stopping Jeremy Lin’s momentum in New York no
clear831
I have never thought that Melo was a winning player, not sure how LBJ and Melo would fit next to each other
Pimpwerx
Melo had poor shot selection, and questionable defense. Bosh could score from anywhere, and was a versatile defender. It’s easy to forget a Bosh rebound and Bosh block saved our asses from a lifetime of memes.
StDiogenes
Probably still win 2 or maybe 3. Honestly, they could’ve won 3 or 4 with Bosh. Small little differences could’ve been made there for more wins.
But Bosh is better than Melo on this team.

I highly doubt it, CB’s defensive impact was heavily underrated by casual fans who liked to constantly whine about his box score.

God imagine how much more awful our big man rotation would’ve been.
SirJohnCard
Melo ain’t getting that rebound.
GordaoPreguicoso
Not 1, not 2, not 3.
Zero we would have won 0.
zeta-ghost
Replacing Lebron with Melo, may have won one more championship.
Intelligent_Seesaw23
Everyone acts like Melo is a cancer because they watch max kellerman and stupid sport’s personalities with an agenda. However all his teammates say other wise. I guess “Olympic” Melo who played off ball wouldn’t be a threat spacing wise ? With Pat Riley’s physical and conditioning his “ego” would be acceptable to take a role. He doesn’t have to be a corner catch and shoot player but he can definitely spread the floor and would of had more longevity than Bosh and Wade who both were done by 2014 bc of health reasons. Melo and Bron could of kept the torch going until at least 2018 by 2018 bron and Melo were 32-33 still able to play high level basketball. So I’d say 3-4 rings with the right pieces around them from 2010-2018
tomgreen99200
I’ll take Bosh’s rebounding ability
This_Breadfruit5637
Melo wanted the money he didn’t care about winning a ring
jameriican
We 3Peat and no one will convince me otherwise. S/N I think Melo would’ve averaged 30 in 2011 Finals vs. Mavs
Dareal6
No. LeBron knees damn well what he was doing picking Wade and Bosh. The question Mark around Bosh was his defense but he was an anchor on the Redeem Team. Outplayed Dwight when Dwight was considered the best big man on the planet.
Hot_Maximum7892
No cause Melo wasn’t playing no defense or was a solid rebounder. But if they needed him to just score it might work
jowy1232
Yes.. at least one ring… or two… less.
AyyDelta
Most likely, it would have been Wade, Bosh and Tyson Chandler. Assuming if LeBron doesn’t go to Chicago, Wade has a great chance at a second finals MVP. Not sure if he would get the regular season MVP over Rose. The media really loved him and assumed the Bulls would have not been a playoff team without him.
LilBushyVert
Maybe at least 1. But I think Bosh ended up balancing the team way more than Melo could.
