Ben Simmons and Giddey on the same team if Simmons is back at the point where he's not scared of basketball would be a really weird backcourt assuming Giddey isn't playing the 3 or 4 with Mills at the 2
Josh and Gaze are very much a like both played at a high level in their rookie years both could read the game with high IQ both are great passers the only thing that is different Gaze could shoot the lights out Josh need to improve his shooting a lot to get near Gaze but i think that will come with time
Andrew Gaze is an Australian legend. He was renowned for his allround scoring, rebounding and passing. I don't necessarily agree with the comparison with Giddey. Gaze was nowhere near the playmaker or rebounder Giddey is. Likewise Giddey is nowhere near the scorer Gaze was. Gaze is 2nd all time in Olympic career scoring. Giddey has a long career ahead of him and will undoubtably improve.
But Gaze is GOAT tier in Australian basketball. He also had one of the greatest NCAA Tournament runs in history leading Seton Hall to the finals, but ultimately lost the championship game in controversial circumstances. He never made a real impact in the NBA but Pop does speak highly of him.
Brian Goorjian the Australian coach is an American ex-pat now Aussie legend , he played for MelbourneTigers in first entry to the N.B.L. because Tigers came in about a decade after it began , Gorj's bro was mentor/schoolteacher/basketball-coach to Ben Simmons
