Tyrese Haliburton vs Jalen Brunson: Who is ACTUALLY Better? | NBA Versus
Imo good breakdown of the debate between the two. Tyrese >>>> obviously. Still baffles me how people would prefer Brunson. He’s good, but he isn’t Hali
i’ve seen r/nba say and treat Haliburton like a “safety cone” on defense and while he isn’t great he’s by no means *bad* at defense. He’s gotta work on it but he has the tools and drive to be league average or better on that end.
I don’t see how people think Brunson is better – i’ve not seen many clips that suggest Brunson is much better. He’s got a bit more lower body strength but isn’t any quicker or more athletic and has a shorter wingspan.
Tyrese has improved at navigating screens but hope he gets better at keeping his guy in front of him. Brunson is a tad bit better at this but i’ve seen plenty of clips where his guy catches him watching the ball or sleeping and he gets a good cut and score on him.
defense is maybe *maaaybe* the one argument Brunson has over Haliburton but in every other way Tyrese is the better player – better shooter, better rebounder, better passer, better dribbler… id give better iso scorer to Brunson but he’s not that efficient at it and Haliburton as an iso scorer from deep is who i’m taking 9 times outta 10.
Brunson is a very good player, he got some dawg, i like him a lot as a leader too – but Haliburton is the better player. *period*

I believe Tyrese has the greater potential. But as I’ve said in similar threads on this board, he has to prove it in the playoffs.
