[KP on Twitter] Porzingis says he has plantar fasciitis, will not play FIBA: “This joint decision has been made by both the medical staff and coaching staff of the national team, as well as the Celtics team – with the advice and opinion that it is now necessary to continue the recovery process”

https://x.com/kporzee/status/1691527368244953089?s=46&t=ae-Q38M0hKIllff2mVkNGg It is difficult, I feel very responsible to myself and the supporters of the Latvian national team, but a decision has been made that I will not play in the World Cup.

After several weeks of recovery and a repeat MRI examination, the plantar fasciitis of my foot still prevents me from being on the field in full readiness.

This joint decision has been made by both the medical staff and coaching staff of the national team, as well as the Celtics team – with the advice and opinion that it is now necessary to continue the recovery process.

Such a decision is not easy to make, but I promise that I will be there and support the team as much as I can.

Our land – Latvia! 🇱🇻💪

Hopefully he gets healthy, he was fantastic in that regard for us last season.

Aw fuck, I was hoping that him hoping to play in FIBA meant he’d be ready for the season.

But I think Plantar Fasciitis lingers

  3. The inevitable cycle of Zinger playing well, gets injured, recovery, ramping up, and repeat

I was told this is a made up injury for tanking teams.

Real talk, the fact that it was even debated he could play is crazy. One of the most painful injuries out there

Lmfao Porzingis is one of those dudes where it’s not his fault at all but I can’t help but get annoyed by how often he’s injured

Ppl acting like he tore his Achilles or something

Ainge is laughing his ass off at Brad Stevens rn (the guy that basically told ownership that Ainge didn’t know how to be a GM)

This injury took years off Marcus Camby’s career as a knick

Did he visit the Porzingis of feet?

I have a feeling there is more to this than plantar fasciitis.

Speaking from experience, Plantar Fasciitis is the worst and is almost always a chronic condition. Hopefully the Celtics can manage it throughout the season.

  12. Glad it is just plantar fasciitis. But if he could’ve learned not to jump that high to score and just use his arms the way Jokic does, he could’ve avoided all those injuries. For a seven footer who is taller than Jokic, he never realized how with his height advantage to figure out how to score without jumping unnecessarily high and then landing wrong. If you watch him closely, he moves like he is a shorter guard when he should not be doing that. People complain Jokic is boring to watch but that’s because he is being smart with his body without sacrificing performance, and outlast other players. Porzingis needs to do the same if it isn’t too late. He can’t afford to be flashy.

Dewayne Dedmon had this last year with us and was visibly cooked

Plantar fascitis is one of a whole list of pains I dealt with for years. Read a book about psychosomatic “injuries” and within a few weeks they were all gone. It’s been 6 years and practically no lower back pain, no shin splints, no plantar, no pinched nerves in my neck. On the rare occasion lower back acts up, I put even more stress on it and it goes away.

I’m sure there are other things that bother me I could chalk up to being psychological, but I tend to not focus on it too much

    “The *joint* decision”

    😏

  17. AgelessBlakeFerguson

That can be some painful shit.

  18. As minor as it sounds, this injury can linger for the remainder of his career. It’s not fun to have.

  19. orphanfeast

Why doesn’t he simply just go to the Lebron James of foot doctors?

  20. NoWayNotThisAgain

Plantar Fasciitis can linger for a long long time.

  21. Recent-Curve7616

Boston really bet championship on this man

  22. ForneauCosmique

Plantar fasciitis is no joke. I remember Tim Duncan had it during the 05 season and playoffs. Only way it’ll go away is essentially by resting. Bad injury for a big man that can linger for months

  23. The-Pharcyde

This was always the risk trading for him. Even with a healthy KP I kind of have my doubts about how he’d look on the celtics.

  24. WarPuig

The Celtics got rid of their iron man Marcus Smart for this lol

  25. AccomplishedBake8351

Me and zingus pingus the same

  28. Sad-Flight-5139

Zinger just needs to break the cycle and start selling plantar fasciitis insurance!
