In season tournament should have more at stake. Maybe a guaranteed playoff berth? Idk… The tournament is a cool idea, but will it mean anything to the players
We’re gonna suck
The NBA didn't "bless" the Raptors. We said the EXACT same thing last season in regards to the strength of schedule. Prior to the season starting last year, Raptors fans had this mindset that the team was a top team due to how weak their schedule was. Well, even with the schedule not being as difficult, the Raptors barely finished as a .500 team.
Out of those 5 teams listed that the Raptors go up against, Boston is not the only more talented team. In terms of talent wise, the Chicago Bulls are more talented than the Raptors. They have two 25 ppg+ capable scorers, whereas the Raptors barely have one. The Raptors roster last season, despite how poor the chemistry was, had a more talented roster than they do right now and could not beat an undermanned Bulls team in Toronto in the play-in tournament. Then the fans went super cringe and blamed DeRozan's daughter for the loss and not the lack of skill the team had. Do not be surprised if the Raptors fall in the same place (or worse) next season. They are not contenders and are one of the youngest teams in the NBA.
