    I was in Las Vegas during Dallas Mavericks Championship run…i won $15k betting series after series with them…..Dirk and the Mavericks took down a lot of Hall Of Famers during that run.

    The key words are "didn't always" it means an initial dislike that gradually transitioned into fond appreciation. That's normal among competitors. They did push each other to greatness.

    Dirk respect those guys. They have a back and forth rivalry between Pau, Dwade, Tony against Dirk.

    Pau: european supremacy in olympics or in fiba euro

    Tony: as a spurs core, mavs and spurs has a heated rivalry in the playoffs and spurs always the wall that Dirk can't surpass in early 2000s

    Dwade: heat and mavs finals. Dwade beat mavs for the title in 2006 and mocking Dirk when he was sick in the finals
