Has that being done before? Cause if not that sounds too extreme, probably already is.

Just call Howie and ask him what he would do because this is getting embarrassing

It’s not even remotely an “obscure” rule lol

Pretty sure Bobby Marks already said to do that Harden’s salary for this year would stay on our books as long as we’re blocking him. So, doesn’t really make sense…

Unless we want to say fuck it and get petty 😈.

James Harden taking all the heat off Embiids sad ending to the season, Embiid prob the happiest man ever right now lol. They all gonna forget him slumping head first quitting in last 2 games…Maybe this is the plan hehe

    > so Harden is holding a very limited amount of leverage.

This really sums up the whole situation. He had limited leverage to begin with, and then deteriorated the rest of it when he demanded a trade to a single team and mouthed off when he didn’t get it instantly. Just like with Ben Simmons, the quickest way out of here would be for him to shut up, hoop, and raise his value.

The problem is, the only reason they would have to do this is out of spite. They don’t want his money on the books next off-season when Maxey is due for a deal. It would handcuff them from spending any money on anyone else next off-season when theoretically they could open up a near max slot.

Do it Morey. Go scorched earth on this prima donna. IDGAF anymore

If he wants to fuck around…I say do it. He’s already gone scorched earth and burned bridges and damaged his trade value. Now we know that he has the personality to get dirty by showing up out of shape and possibly sabotaging games.

Sit him one year, cut his money down, and then obscure his free agency. That way he can show up on the next team 2 years older and out of shape

Y’all better trade him before he torpedoes your season. At best, you’ll get a ball hog harden who’s shown off for another contract. He’ll play inefficient and Y’all might get a four seed. But when it comes playoff time when the intensity has to go up an order of magnitude, he’s not going to take it up a level. He’ll coast because he’s already got the body of work of his season to get a new contract on. And he’ll let you guys wash out in the first round. He’ll want to preserve his body for his new team.
