> Giannis Antetokounmpo, part-owner of Nashville SC, is in attendance to watch his team face off against Lionel Messi and Inter Miami CF at the #LeaguesCup final.

Nashville Soccer Club announced March 2nd, 2023 (Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami on July 15th) that that Predators all-time leading scorer Filip Forsberg along with two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo have joined the team’s ownership group. Antetokounmpo’s brothers Thanasis, Kostas and Alex also joined the ownership group.

My father was a professional soccer player, and it was the first sport I fell in love with in Greece,” Giannis said in the release. “I’ve always had the dream of owning a soccer team. When my brothers and I explored Nashville SC, we knew it was a team and a city that we wanted to get involved with. I couldn’t be more excited to join the Boys in Gold, and can’t wait to come to a match at GEODIS Park soon!”

Do you guys think Giannis loves soccer more, Anthony Edwards loves football more, or Steph Curry loves golf more?

  2. So looking at the MLS standings, can someone explain how Miami is playing for the championship when they’re dead last in their conference?

This is dope. The more celebrities, especially owners, show face, the better for the MLS in popularity.

I don’t follow soccer, so for a moment I thought Giannis was part owner of a city in South Carolina

Unironically reckon Giannis would be a great goal keeper, limbs for days.

I thought Nashville was in Tennessee, not South Carolina.
