Is Joel Embiid afraid to play Nikola Jokic in Denver?

Is Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid afraid of playing against the 2x NBA MVP and now NBA Champion Nikola Jokic in Denver? ESPN personalities think so. Embiid went on to win his first MVP award last season, while Jokic went on to add an NBA Championship to his career accolades that already included two league MVP awards. Embiid has not played against Jokic in Denver since 2019, begging the question: is he dodging Jokic and the Nuggets in Denver? Swipa breaks it down for basketball fans everywhere.

  1. Yes. But after ESPN pointed it out he's gonna play. The schedule also forces him too barring a freak injury since I'm pretty sure the matchups are a just over a week apart iirc.

In the end though nothing Embiid will do will matter for now cus he's stuck in the second round. It's hard to say they're competing for championships when one of them hasn't even had a chance to get out of the East…

  2. I am certain Embiid has trepedation, but I think it is the "sports media" that push false narratives who are more afraid of this matchup. The media has to push their stupid narratives trying to increase controversy. If Embiid goes and does poorly it just makes clear how foolish and stupid their false narratives are.

  3. I just wish Ramona Shelburne would quit making excuses for Embiid. It's obvious she is Embiid's mouthpiece.

  4. Question: why does that race-baiter Perkins still have a job at ESPN? Are they some kind of vile racist organization full of 'white player' haters?

  5. Is this true? How the hell has he gotten away with this? This just looks sad and pathetic. Get your butt in there and play the games.

  6. I’m pretty sure everyone is afraid to play the joker. It’s the rational thing to do when playing against the best player in the world.

  7. The real question is whether Embiid will still be on the 6ers in January or whether he demands a trade since James Harden is being traded and they might not be able to find a replacement.

  8. The Whale is getting some presents each year from Embiid, just like the Hippo (BW), Wrong and damn near whole ESPN cater to Le flop, aka le ankle!
