Sorry SAS, none of those things you said has anything to do with being a PG. Curry could just as well be an SG and still have same impact. With Magic, he's the greatest passer ever it's that simple. He facilitates the offense and there's no comparison between him and Curry as a passer – Magic has 4 assist titles to Curry's 0, Magic has double the APG of Curry. Not to mention Magic has an extra MVP and ring and 2 FMVPs on Curry. Curry isn't a true PG he's an SG that masquerades as a PG much like Jerry West did back in the day.
Point guard is about distribution and nobody distributed for his teammates than Magic Johnson his records in the finals will never be rivaled

Magic would destroy Steph head to head imo. Steph is more 2 than 1 but I just hate how everyone sees offense as the end all be all. Magic is a Mount Rushmore type of player because of both ends & nobody is talking about how Steph is not great. Just my opinion so don’t hate me for it 😂

Curry is by far the best shooter EVER in the league however, Magic is the best PG. Curry is only a PG because of his height while Magic was a PG despite his height. As far as impact is concerned Magic along w/Bird had the biggest impact in the league as whole. They literally saved the league and without those 2 the NBA might not exist as NBA Finals games were tape delayed prior to them coming onboard and dominating the 80s. Curry on the other hand only impacts 1 aspect of the game. Magic revolutionized the way a PG is seen and who can be a point guard or a team main distributor. He helped pave the way for players like Pippen, Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, LeBron and Luka. As the NBA evolved teams were going to shoot lots of 3s with or without Curry. From 1980-2009 NBA teams 3pt shooting attempts increased 900%. Since Curry entered the league in 2009-2010 until 2023 NBA team 3 pt shooting attempts increased 89%. If you combined career averages Pts/Ast Magic comes out on top 19.5pts+11.2ast (total 41.9 counting assists as 2pts per assist without 3pts) – Curry 24.6pts 6.5ast (40.85 counting assists as 2.5pts per assists to account for 3pts). Magic has all the qualities of a Point Guard while Curry has all the qualities of a Shooting Guard except for height.

Best point guard? Really depends how you define the point guard. For the traditional guard, it is Magic. For the the new guard, it is definitely Steph.

Steph is in the conversation for sure, but Magic was part of what made basketball box office. I'd still go magic, but Steph has transcended and impacted the game immensely. So I may not agree, but I would respect that argument.
Look, Steph is probably my favorite player all time… but no! You could argue that Draymond Green has been the facilitator in GS! In fact, without looking, he may actually have avg'd more ast's than Steph. You could argue Draymond is the PG. So if Steph is running off ball that much, the answer has to be no.
