[Vorkunov] Knicks lawsuit alleges that Azotam created and shared 3,358 video files from Knicks’ Synergy account, with the scouting reports for two opponents, as well as diagrams of their plays, emailing that and other info from his work account to a personal account and Raptors employees.

>Lawsuit from the Knicks alleges new Raptors head coach Darko Rajaković and other Raptors defendants used Azotam “as a current Knicks insider to funnel proprietary information to the Raptors” to help organize his new staff and video ops, including over 3,000 files of film and data

“records show that the stolen files were accessed over 2000 times by the raptors defendants” i don’t even know what to say

btw is anyone is familiar how to access lawsuits — Popper said it’s available on federal dockets, so I signed up for a PACER account, but it said it’d take 7-10 days for the account to be allowed to look up anything.

*granted i have no idea if its allowed to copy-paste stuff like lawsuits into a reddit post, so nw if that’s not allowed

edit: LFG here it is: https://assets.bwbx.io/documents/users/iqjWHBFdfxIU/rL6sXeaKz8jY/v0

Losing Nurse really drove the Raptors crazy.

why us though? they could’ve picked literally anyone else lol

  5. Some of the files named in the lawsuit:

    let_brunson_cook.mp4

    hart_transition_layup.mp4

    randle_spin_move.mp4

What happened was Azotam shared the internal synergy data to synergy users in Raptors organization. That way Knicks and investigators were able to check how many times it was viewed, where, etc. without having access to their account. Synergy or Sportsradar is also one of the biggest NBA partner and no doubt conducted investigation to provide the data. They are built to prevent data theft like this.

**SEND THE RAPTORS TO THE G LEAGUE WHERE THEY BELONG**

Situation is shady overall. From the Raptors and from this dude.

The Knicks discovered the theft on August 15th. The lawsuit was filed today, August 21st. That seems fast?

bruh why would you send it from your official work gmail?? Do you not know the employer can see that?

I just don’t get the upside here, like it’d be one thing if it were like the Nuggets infiltrating the Suns, a contender looking to get an edge on another contender that they’ll likely meet in the playoffs, but this is a fringe playoff team spying on a 2nd-round exit lol, like the reward can’t possibly justify the risk right?

  18. Damn, our FO is even trying to emulate the incompetence of the Wizards old front office. They’re doing great with their Wizards impression!

Welp, based on everything I’ve read so far, seems like the Knicks have quite the case. This Azotam dude is a dumb ass. Hope his payday was worth it. Question for me is who else/how far up in the Raptors org was complicit in this. Darko should be done if he had any knowledge what so ever. Masai too if he was aware. You simply can’t take assets from another org to a new gig, everyone knows this.

If you’re gonna steal files from a team, why steal them from a team that fuckin sucks??

  21. This is why companies nowadays just straight up lock you out once you give notice.
