  3. Currymvp2

Harden could have avoided this by just opting out. I’m not a fan of Morey but Harden handled this so foolishly lol

  4. Physx56

Can’t wait to see the cryptic tweets from NBA players referencing this for the next 24 hours

  5. browndude10

that’s just one stripper’s income for one night; thanks Silver

Why is the NBA stepping in for an internal team dispute?

  8. whateverqcvgtxbny

Lmfaoooo he got fined for being salty

  9. They just went after his wine money. Now Harden has to release another 10,000 bottles of his wine.

  10. OhiOstas

Harden got fined because he negatively expressed his thoughts on how Morey did business with him…?

  11. PillsburyToasters

James Harden with the step back at the buzzer…and it’s no good!

  12. lord_james

Why does Harden get a fine? Is it for calling Morey a liar or is it for saying he won’t be apart of the organization?

  13. KamikazeMack

Would not be surprised if players speak out against this. Nobody fuckin wit Morey after all this is done

  14. desirox

Hm not sure I like that. Why is he not entitled to express negative thought’s especially if they may be legit?

  15. elliott9_oward5

Doesn’t impact him, its pocket change to Harden. Glad the NBA did something, but it’s not going to do much.

  16. TheRealJohnMara

Chump chan…. Wait thats a lot of money

  17. UnexpectedCroissant

Silver reportedly also demands that Harden wash his mouth out with soap for such naughty language.

  18. MalikCunninghamMVP

The NBA should use that money to pay their employees

  19. throwawayjoeyboots

    Sorry r/nba.

This hasn’t played out how you hoped

  20. Cereal4dayz

He just dropped this much at the houston strip club last weekend, he’ll be fine

  21. FrnklndaTurtle

Steve Ballmer will match James Harden’s fine at Delilah’s

  22. similarion

Doesn’t this just guarantee another wasted year for Embiid in his prime?

This tweet is apparently wrong. He was fined for saying he won’t play for Morey, which the league interpreted as publicly expressing a desire to be traded. They did not fine him for calling Morey a liar. Woj corrected himself 9 minutes later:

    >For the league’s purposes on the fine, Harden’s comments that he would never be part of an organization that included Morey played a bigger part in the fine, sources said. It touched on the league’s rules concerning public trade demands.

    Harden misplayed this.

He tanked his current trade value, practically making a trade impossible. The Sixers likely are only going to get offers from teams looking to get off bad money. Philly isn’t doing any trades that make them worse off in 2024-25 and beyond.

He also tanked his future value on the market. I’d bet he’ll never get a large contract again, maybe not even at the AAY of the 1 year deal he’s on now. Not only is he physically diminished, but GMs now know that if his whims aren’t catered to like a megastar, he’ll drag your org through the mud. No one wants that headache.

  25. Choomba_Lord

Harden should sue the NBA for libel that would be funny

  26. SnooPies5622

Lol people are acting like it’s a nothing fine but 100k for calling a dude a liar seems sufficient

  27. Thereisnocomp2

R/nba collectively dropped to its knees in a Wal-Mart

  28. Mygaffer

But Daryl Morey *is* a liar. How can they fine him for just telling the truth?

    It’s a travesty of justice.

  29. jakedasnake2447

Ok Morey, prove that you have never told a lie.

  30. drblocktagon

this is ridiculous. why should the league be allowed to fine a guy for whistleblowing?

  31. PooperJackson

Everyone on r/nba “Morey bout to be fired. Maybe jail time”

    Nba “we’re fining Harden”

  32. Mr-Zunder

Didn’t Edwards get fined less than this for publicly humiliating some LGBT folk? Obviously they’re all rich and it doesn’t matter and I don’t care about a millionaires money, but it’s weird to see where the NBAs priorities are

  33. KungFuSlanda

wait.. but is Daryl Money a liar about something? $100k is a heck of a fine.

And I know harden is a shithead and a teamkiller but to ding a guy $100k.. You better come correct
