Lakers need a center and Javale McGee is becoming available after the Dallas Mavericks reported to be Waiving McGee. Lakers Nation remembers McGee helping the Lakers win an NBA Championship and could do it again this season. Should Lakers News come out of a McGee signing?

I would rather waste a roster spot w/ Tristan Thompson than waste a roster it w/ Mcgee. Thompson is younger but can still bang bodies inside. While Mcgee cant even get PT w/ a struggling Dallas Team. Both TT & Mcgee are great locker room guys if thats what the Lakers want. Rather have TT.
What the Lakers need is a serviceable center they can use for 20-25 minutes whenever AD rest or dont play.
Aside from CWood, Biyombo, Garuba & Gabriel are still available. Might be more bigs will be available when Training camp starts. Who knows, Castleton might show enough maturity to occupy the 14th spot after training camp.
AD gotta get his 3 point shot back if they get mcgee can't have two non shooting big men and you still got hayes another non shooting big man

Jason Kidd has coached McGee in LA and Dallas. Kidd benching him should tell you where McGee is at as a player. I pose a question, what was one of the Mavericks biggest weaknesses for years? And they benched McGee. I would rather them bring back Tristan. A Tristian who didn’t just step off ESPN. We also have Caselton we could use the last roster spot on.

Was flying out Saturday la to Dallas on American air .. I seen Wood boarding same flight and told him we want him and laker nation waiting on him .. he smiled and cheesed so hard and gave me daps… I then seen him in first row in first class and before I passed by I told him again we expecting you in that purple and gold … he gave me the same smile and cheese and proceeded to dap me up again … I think he is waiting for Miami or Chicago or anybody to throw him 5-6 mil and it’s possible but if not I think he then would sign with us .. he essentially would fight for mins against AD and Vandy and sees he might be the 3rd PF in rotation and that’s what is not making him sign but I can sincerely say I saw his eyes light up when I told him that Saturday night

No to JaVale. If Vogel was still the head coach then maybe it could work. Damien Jones is a better player than JaVale is right now. So is Thomas Bryant. Ham couldn't get much, if anything, out of either of those players when AD was healthy so what do fans expect will happen when you bring JaVale in now? McGee will ride the bench, tells some jokes, and be a conversation piece when he's a DNP coach's decision vs Jokic and Embiid. There's just no logic in acquiring a steeply declining center under a head coach that does not know how to coach centers. May as well develop a young guy since the roster spot will be wasted either way.

This analysis you are giving is the reason why teams are always losing. A guy like DeMarcus Cousins should be brought in and given the starting center and watch him perform. Anthony Davis is not a center and has never been and don't want to be. Forcing him to play center means that Lakers will not win the championship this year.

I don't care what anybody says they need to get javale McGee let's run it back with him one more time. He contributed during the 2020 championship and helped us win majority of our regular season games cause of his energy and being a good teammate to everybody on the roster that year. In which we need a player like him now to give everybody good spirits while wanting to win a long the process.
