Dammit, he beat me out by only two factors.

    > this month cemented his net worth at an estimated $3.5 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which is calculating his fortune for the first time.

    > Jordan bought his majority stake in the Charlotte Bobcats in 2010 at a $275 million valuation
    >
    > Before selling his stake, Jordan took steps to ensure the Hornets remained in Charlotte. In 2022, the city extended the team’s lease through 2045 and agreed to a $275 million deal that would renovate its uptown arena and help build a new practice facility.
    >
    > Bloomberg’s estimate assumes he sold a 65% stake in the team and kept a less than 5% interest.
    >
    >
    >
    > He was paid more than $90 million during his career with the Bulls and Washington Wizards

And didn’t spend any money to help the Hornets lol

  4. meekspuff

3.5 billion is already getting boring. Wake me up when they’re at that zazapachillions already

  5. Certain_Cranberry_77

Iam the richest basketball player in my street. Worth $75 of clean money. Let me repeat, clean money.

  6. Repair_Motor

how does he have 3.5 Billion when he sold his stake for 3+ Billion and already had 2+Billion fortune before that? he should have 5+ Billion now, n0!?

  7. RobotArtichoke

He should buy the Oakland A’s now, we all know how much he loves baseball. But like everything, there’s a downside since we know he also loves gambling and will probably hasten their move to Las Vegas.

  8. baseketball

Ballmer’s net worth fluctuates by that much on some days.

  9. UnderwaterDialect

Fair. I think the greatest to ever do something as popular as basketball should be obscenely wealthy.

  10. lmr_fudd

That’s nothing! I have over 100 Brazilian Real.

  11. S13pointFIVE

.5?? He about to take that personally.

  12. justchisholm

    That’s 100 years of making $35 million a year.

I wonder how much he made for other people. MJ was the major reason the NBA blew up internationally. Every club increased in value and players starting earning more due to the increased popularity of the league.

Its crazy how rich MJ is and his wealth isnt from playinf basketball for the most part

Made only like 100M gross (40-50M after taxes, a)gent fees etc

He is now worth 3.5B via his jordan brand and huge gain on sale of the hornets

Lebron if he follows suit likely will be richer from his off court endeavors then his NBA contracts (though he probably still makes ~400M from his contracts)

No matter how legandary you are at a sport, your a peon compared to your boss who owns the business/operations.

Got to use your fame and stsrt up wealth to become an owner/investor

Deserved.. heck it probably should be more. The NBA is what it is today thanks to him. Crazy how one athlete in a sports team can affect so much not only the future revenue of a league, but also the multiple generations of stars that graced the game after him. As basketball fans, we should all be eternally grateful.

  16. cough_landing_on_you

Mama was the brain of the operations. MJ was a mute.

  17. Elon Musk about to record himself doing a dunk and making sure it has 7 billion views

  18. chicadancing

The GOAT being the richest. Fitting

  19. iHeartArtHoes

Bron will be richer when he’s 60 🐐👑

  20. Sniffy4

I’m ok with this. About time somebody who created value actually profited.
