Chot Reyes be like: those players in the 2nd quarter played well. Let’s not fucking use them again.

Philippines about to go winless again lmao

  2. halfwaytocertain

Gilas should be less reliant on Clarkson. They have good players but the coach seems insistent in running everything through him and his ISO plays. Run a play off ball!

  3. serthpok21

Very winnable game for the Philippines tbh. Just bad coaching overall.

  4. Bonjingkenkoy

Man, Chot Reyes must be the worst coach in the world. No exaggeration, local town coaches might have more sense in their rotations than him. Trash-ass coach relying on politics to stay lol

  5. lannistargaryen

I’ll say it again chot reyes is ass bro

fun fact: he charges 100k pesos (1700 USD) for inspiration talks lmao fuck this guy

  6. Pr0tanoia

Can Spo coach a non-USA team like PH? Is that allowed?

  7. cyianite

Good game for the PH, was expecting a blown out but they fought well. Great game for JC, Ramos and Fajardo.. Aside from JC got gassed out and fouled trouble and the Ph has no other play but to do the same scheme over and over nevertheless I’ll blame it to the JINX in the arena

  8. Calinks

Ph actually had a good shot. Towns was struggling a lot of that game but he got it together in the 4th and by then it PH was too late. DR pulled it out. Winanble game, hopefully PH learns from it. DR needs to be more poised, they are dangerous but they have to play at peak level all tournament to go far.

  9. raki016

    Philippines beat themselves.

KAT was not even that good this game tbh. And the rest of DR can’t hit an ft

Me: Just run the 2021 team back. Those might be kids, but they gave a Jokic-less Serbia a scare in Belgrade.

Chot: Allow me to reintroduce myself.

  11. nothalaman

Clarkson did what he could even when he’s not a natural point. Coach thought he was prime James Harden

  12. Gilas has been having learning experiences for the last 10 years

  13. Cul_what

Someone please convince Tim Cone to replace Chot cause this mfer cannot set up plays except for “give to Clarkson and pray” he’s fucking ass oml

  14. fatflipflops

fouls killed us. chris paul-esque plays won’t work on fiba JC.

  15. Extraordinary_DREB

When we lost JC, the game was over. Chot didn’t prepare for countermeasures if JC gets fouled out. He didn’t even avoid JC fouling out. FFS

  16. AgreeableCarpet7

All the memes about Kai Soto and he plays 1 minute lol

  17. Expert-Garbage-1553

Winnable right up until Clarkson fouled out. JC was having a generational carry job, I would argue he was carrying the team more than Blatche was in 2014. Chot for the nth time forgetting about this thing we call rotations. Kief, Perez, and even Sotto to a degree could’ve contributed in the second half. Aj Edu and Fajardo a lowkey great combo. Actually forgot Pogoy was in the game late in the 4th.

I don’t want to hear about anyone complaining about bad coaching ever again. That coach you’re complaining about will never be as bad as Chot Reyes.

Just watch this fucking game, that Phillipines coach put on a masterclass on how to be a horrible shitty coach

  19. pikoooo

Pinoys in FB feeling satisfied with the results lmao

It’s not even crab mentality the coach is just dogshit

  20. phandesal

Parang mas ok pa kung si Brownlee sana

  21. slickdevil04

    Chot Reyes Every loses :
    -It’s a great learning experience.
    -It’s on me.
-We don’t have enough time to prepare.
-JC and Kai joined us late.
    -We don’t need to win.
-Don’t judge me now, judge me after the world cup.
-LACK OF FAMILIARITY AMONG New PLAYERS

  22. vongoladecimo_

    *Checks Chot Reyes playbook*

    – give ball to Clarkson
    – watch

    – nothing follows

  23. bingp0t

Takeaway is KAT’s amazing body transformation

  24. Cherry_Caliban

Any Dominicans out there? Say so shit. How did you see this game. Does DR look as discombobulated as always?

  25. GlueGuy00

very winnable game for PH despite being undisciplined defensively and reckless offensive plays

  26. MamaHadACow

    2 main takeaways
    1. KAT isn’t anywhere near 7 feet tall. He wasn’t towering above PH big men and those guys arent even 6″10
    2. Very winnable game. Bad coaching was the deciding factor

  27. Kentang_BayBay

Only tuned in late 3rd, early 4th… What happened to Kai?

  28. doc_d00fenshmirtz

AJ Edu and Fajardo were impressive. Sotto is a meme at this point

  29. ClutchGamingGuy

as a Jean Montero stan I’m happy to see him get PT

  30. ITgymComics7

Instead of playing basketball, Philippines should invest in Trike Patrol.

  31. starkpwnsyou

The DR caught fire late in the fourth, especially those back to back threes that buried Gilas. KAT took over when Clarkson fouled out, opening up the perimeter for his shooters.

The DR will live and die by KAT’s performance. If he can dominate his matchups down low, they win. If he faces other elite bigs, that’s when things would get interesting.

Fajardo is an old-school no bs big. He’s an exponentially better player than Sotto, even at his age. Edu is a solid defender.

Abando might be useful against slower teams. That guy is a menace on the break and on baseline cuts. But on a team with very minimal player movement, I can see why he gets limited minutes. That, and the coach doesn’t like his style of play because he doesn’t understand it.

Despite massively improving the team’s height, Gilas still can’t secure a rebound when necessary.

Gilas guards aside from Clarkson and Ramos can’t beat their man off the dribble, severely limiting the effectiveness of what appears to be an attempt at a pick and roll offense.

No set plays, not even inbound plays to get the ball inbound for Gilas. They were overly reliant on one point of attack, and rarely had shooters open. It’s like the coach was holding tryouts for any player who actually tries something instead of trying to win.

  32. supremehat27

KAT doing his best James Harden impression

  33. Jicama-Smart

did Jordan Clarkson try to fight anybody?
