  1. The Bulls are paying for their insane draft luck getting Jordan and Rose with reverse JuJu getting awful picks in the lottery the last 10 years.

  2. Been a fan since 2012 post rose injury. I survived the Jim Boylen Fred Hoiberg era..Trust me we'll be okay 😅🤣

  3. There is no middle ground in the NBA. You either tank and rebuild or go all in for a chip.

  4. I just hate that some fans are banking on Williams taking a "leap". He's a role player and thats fine. But some fans are waiting for his offense to blossom lile Khawis and its just not reality

  5. The height of this Bulls build was very much like the 2000’s pistons. No superstars but a bunch of good players who worked well together. Chemistry and defense over superstar offense

  6. Life has sucked as a Bulls fan…so hard to be excited for the season. Hoping we can do a FULL rebuild for once

  7. Had they not traded for Vuc they may have a total different outlook. That's how bad he is. Having had Wendell and Franz would have also made their transition to a retool instead of a rebuild. They could have then traded their older guy's. One of DeRozan or Zach for solid pieces.

  8. I think this is the last year for the current core to be together. If they miss the playoffs again, blowing it up makes more sense

  9. I think we'll be on a better season this year. The bulls have been beating championship level teams last season but lose to tanking teams. It doesn't make any sense but Lavine was coming of a surgery and Caruso missed some games because of Grayson. We were pretty good after the all star break until miami beat us

  10. Lonzo will be back in the NBA at the same level. His game is predicated on high IQ running the point as a coach on the floor and playing lockdown D.,.. hitting open threes…. he's a true PG in an era of score first PG…. but made it work with the right cast. He'll make it work again.

  11. They legit just need a decent PG. The fact that they were able to beat the better teams on most occasions last year but struggled againts sub 500 teams shows they still have the talent, they just lack the glue. Jevon Carter who they added in the off season isnt gonna move the needle too much but i think they will surprise allot of people with how good they are gonna be. Unfortunately i do see Deebo getting movied unless they are someone in the top 3 spot for the east tho.

  12. The key parts you failed to mention in this is they hired an entire new front office & coaching staff who is only going into year 4. GarPax (the previous FO) absolutely wrecked the financial situation of the team, and were known for being insanely bad at scouting and drafting. So AKME (the new FO) basically had to gut the entire roster while also slapping a bandaid on the cap situation. Not easy work to do when you step into a situation that bad. Imagine starting a rebuild with no true player to build around & no assets on the roster to build the team thru trades. Damn near impossible to build a contender out of thin air. They have tried to build around Lavine & he started out his Bulls tenure coming off an ACL injury, and has had another knee surgery since. He's also not a true #1 option so he's not ideal to start a rebuild as the guy to build a team around. Lavine was there before the new FO got there tho. AKME didn't trade Butler – that trade was another GarPax failure.

Also the thing about "fit" with players is that good coaches can work around that thru scheme and gameplanning/adjustments. This current coaching staff has been very unsuccessful at a number of things and is the main reason things have looked as bad as they have (outside of Lonzo's injury).

The coaching staff led by Billy Donovan runs arguably the most basic offense I've ever seen in the NBA. There is no off-ball movement at all. There is limited use of screens. It is basically give 1 of DeRozan, Lavine, or Vuc the ball and let them do what they do – well Vuc works best out of the post but BD has him doing his work from the 3pt line 😅. They built a team to push the pace and even used the mantra "Run With Us" as their team slogan. BD says he likes guys who get out and run, and create points off of rebounds and defense. Well the Bulls don't push the pace either. They mostly give it to Lavine or DeRozan and literally walk or at most jog the ball up the court. There are absolutely no positive in-game adjustments being made by the coaches. Vuc can go off with 20 in the 1st half of games and literally get 3-5 touches in the 2nd half. In conclusion BD has absolutely no idea what he is doing as a coach most games and you'll randomly hear him call out a number like "45!" only to see the players do the exact same things they do every other time down the court 😂 honestly he is seen as a joke by most Bulls fans who now refer to him as "Bubblegum Billy" bcuz he just chews gum all game and doesn't really do much actual coaching.

Another key factor has been player development. Not a single player has truly developed in a major way and that stalls literally everything you are trying to accomplish as a franchise. Most young guys rarely get a chance to play and if they do, their role is constantly changing rather than just changing what they do on the court. Coby, Pat, & Ayo have each been in & out of the starting lineup. Our 18th pick from last year's draft played the least minutes ever by a rookie at that pick. The player development situation is so bad that the FO had to hire an outside source specifically for player development. Never heard of any other team having to do that.

The ownership family has only ever paid the luxury tax 1 time in the entire history of the Bulls, so the FO has to work with a spending limit as well. The owners love BD and gave him a secret extension last November that still hasn't had any details released. Yet another thing I have never heard of any other team doing. Secret extensions? Pretty shady. All around it's just not good. If Lonzo had been healthy, things would look much different, but teams deal with injuries all the time and make it work. There's a lot more to the story tho. Not just "Bulls rebuild failed". There's many things that went wrong and it starts at the top with the owners. This FO has actually done a pretty good job, much better than the previous one could've dreamed of doing. They just happen to be the scapegoat in all of this sadly.
