Full article, translated: Kristaps Porziņgis, the player of the Latvian national team and the National Basketball Association (NBA) Boston Celtics team, after the training session of the national team on Saturday, gave a more detailed assessment of his recovery process from the inflammation of the foot, today’s opponent France, and commented on the great interest of the local fans in him.

On Saturday evening, a day before the Latvian national team’s second Group H match in the World Cup final against France, the national team held a training session in the training hall of the Indonesia arena, which is located on the second floor. Kristaps Porzingis , who is not playing for the national team due to foot inflammation, was noticeable in it . After the training, Kristaps answered various questions to the journalists who came.

“It was a good victory, but the next and the next are the most important games,” began Porzingis, later answering a question about his daily life in Jakarta. **”What did I experience outside of training? Nothing at all. I have my own rehabilitation, I am with the team in training and meetings. I go out for a walk , but it’s so humid here that I don’t want to walk for very long.”” In principle, avoid any sharp movements and pain ,” said Porzingis, about what is one of the first steps in his recovery process. “Everything is controlled – when something appears, it immediately slows me down. I continue to go to the necessary procedures. Everything goes according to schedule and there is nothing complicated. It’s just that the foot needs to be rested more, so that it calms down a bit .” ”Definitely! I would like it to be faster, but it is as it is. I will be more than ready for the start of the season.”**

Considering that already today at At 16:30 Latvian time, the second match against France is expected for the national team, several questions were focused on the analysis and evaluation of the next opponent. “Experienced team. There will already be favorites in this game. We don’t care about that, because we want to win.” Porzingis himself also indicated in the video meetings certain details, which, for example, should be used in defense against the tall ones, without explaining them in more detail. ” I didn’t say anything like that – in principle, things are known to everyone. Small details that can make a difference of two or four points. We just have to be smart and exploit their weaknesses. This is one game where you can go for different tricks.”

After the loss to Canada, it may seem that there will be even more pressure on France in the match against Latvia. The opponents’ camp did not pay much attention to it in the public comments, but Porzingis pointed out that if the winner of the match is determined at the end, the pressure to win can also disturb the opponent. ” They’re going to come out super pumped up and ready to go over us. It won’t happen! It’s easy for me to speak, because I didn’t play, but coming closer to the end of the game, I believe that this additional pressure will work against them.” In order to do this, you have to play quality defense regardless of the shooting.

The first days in Jakarta have allowed us to conclude that the players of the National Basketball Association (NBA) are held in high esteem here. Porzingis also got the attention of the local fans, who after the victory over Lebanon took some time to reach the nearby hotel. ” After the last game I wanted to take a walk. There were already huge queues for the next game, and it took me a while to get to the hotel in the end. Everyone wanted to stop, take pictures and so on. There is definitely a lot of support. When you leave the hotel room, you feel support and fanaticism. It takes some energy, but it’s nice.”

saying i’m nervous, would be an understatement. lol.

If my life depended on me winning the bet, i would bet against him playing openening night. Maybe they say, there is progress, but will take it slow.

Agreed I am nervous about the season in general. I’m hoping he isn’t out as much as he had been in the past few seasons. It would not be a great feel to trade a key asset to the team for someone sitting on the bench all season.

    I hope he’s healthy.

I’ve had plantar fasciitis. It fucking sucks. Like… you can move, but it’s just horrible the whole time. I tried playing basketball once on it with my kids and I went for the worlds most gentle lay up and went Down like I got shot.

Take your time big fella. We don’t need you 80% in September we need you 100% in may

i have had plantar fasciitis for a couple of years now. it can be brutally painful but it’s definitely manageable. losing a few pounds, stretching, ice, occasional cortisone shots and changing shoes athletic shoes more frequently means i only with occasional discomfort now.

    “Everything goes according to schedule”

This man has never played a full season in the NBA. I’d say it’s pretty safe to assume this will not be going “according to schedule” as nothing ever does with this guy. He’s a walking injury just like Gordon Hayward.

Kind of feels like a fever dream waking up and remembering Porzingis is on our team
