  1. odd season…on the one hand, bitterly disappointing not to follow on from a very bright 2022 when the team looked so compact defensively and was utilising good speed, especially through the 'corridor'. But despite the setbacks this year, they finished off strongly and Amiss in his 2nd year kicking over 40 is special. He's a great talent and should only improve – but he needs quality around him, so Treacy needs to continue being good foil for him. I like the way the forward line is shaping, it's taken a long time to see some options develop and have a goalkicker other then Walters look capable of kicking 40+. Emmett is a good nugget find, I love what Schultz does, he had some down patches but he is a warrior out there….I think Freddy had a poorer year this year but still chipped in with nearly 30 goals again and I like how Sturt found some form….who knew a string of games might unearth some actual talent there and some capability…?!?!? **Joke***

I personally think Tabs is done, or as close to the edge as it gets without falling off……..far too injury-prone at this late stage, so Jackson and Treacy really need to support Amiss as the tall options down there – assuming Darcy stays, which I think he should….and will. Sean needs a big off season and 2024. My main worry for 2024 would be Amiss getting injured, and then what?! I still think the club is still another good KPF short…..a real good partner for Amiss. I think they missed a trick not getting Van Rooyen in that draft too, I like Erasmus and hope he has a great career there, but I wouldn't of said he was a desperate need then…….anyway, tis what it is. Poor season not to make finals off the back of 2022, but with the squad as young as it had become and some later injuries…early form was just not good enough and hurt the team's chances when they finally did start to settle and make something of themselves. Too many bad home losses, but again some great wins on the road – especially at the MCG. They looked more unified and starting to gel in these past 5 rounds where they got 3 wins and some 'honorable' losses against good opposition, like Brissy and Port. Something to take forwards I guess, here's hoping 2024 is the point of difference to the start of something…..
