> Would Embiid like to have Harden back? Sure. The 10-time All-Star helped Embiid land his first MVP. Harden gave Embiid his first competent half-court playmaker since Jimmy Butler. And, yes, the Sixers ultimately lost to the Celtics in an embarrassing Game 7, but they were on the precipice of the Eastern Conference Finals with a lead late in Game 6. Because of the way the team has plateaued in the second round, it might be hard to view them as close, but they were.
> With all that said, this doesn’t feel like a situation where Embiid is hanging on every Harden update, letting what happens with that situation decide his own fate. As ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne recently reported, Embiid is “happy to be a Sixer.” Despite all the noise, Embiid is gearing up for this season, with Harden or not.
>Embiid is kept in the loop on all the things the Sixers are doing. He knows the team could open up a max cap slot for next offseason and the players that could be available. He knows that Morey is not secretly hoping for a rebuild, as other reports have suggested. Teams like the Knicks and Heat might be “monitoring” the situation, but the Sixers aren’t taking any calls. They’re all in on Embiid as the centerpiece of the franchise.
>Embiid trusts Morey and managing partner Josh Harris, according to a league source. He also feels a loyalty to the organization for the way they supported him during the early trials of his career.
>Presently, Embiid is where he wants to be and he’s gearing up to play with Maxey and the rest of the group Morey assembles. He’s genuinely excited to play for new head coach Nick Nurse, per a league source. The non-Harden vibes with the Sixers as a whole are actually good.

Sureeeeee
second round exit incoming
Until Nurse yells at someone in the locker room
same vibes as getting in a car wreck but the food you got in the back seat is unscathed

What are the chances that this Liberty Ballers writer’s “league source” is from outside the Sixers organization?
Nice fluff pieces, it’s from a blog and doesn’t even have any sources lol
We will see if the good vibes roll on or not if this team gets off to a slow start or Harden is a malcontent if he shows up this year. Things are volatile but I also believe Embiid is the kind of personality to want to win, his way, and believes he can.
fine the Knicks will just settle for Giannis
Translation: I’m giving one more year and if shit ain’t working, get me out of here.
All this fluff doesn’t change that this team’s ceiling is a second-round exit and Embiid is as good as gone.
Josh Harris is the modern day Mark Cuban partying with his players.
That’s actually a really good point with Embiid’s loyalty. Most teams wouldn’t have been as patient and let him heal and sit and develop for so long. He probably would’ve went number 1 without the injury but he was very raw as a prospect as he only started playing basketball 3/4 years prior. Add on the fact that he sits for 2 years and then gets hurt again his rookie year, a lot of teams might’ve cut their losses. I can see why Embiid feels an extra sense of loyalty compared to others who might not have gone through the same situation
It doesn’t sound that surprising tbh. Embiid has watched the franchise go through so much turmoil this Harden shit is probably just another day at the office.
“other than the one giant negative vibe the vibes are pretty much positive”
Whodrick?
Can’t wait for the Embiid trade request in 2025
I mean ofc a perpetual second round choker is happy w a place that pays him so well to choke
Not sure why he would trust this front office, they weren’t there in the early part of his career. Other than the Owner (Josh Harris) who may or may not be closely involved with the team, Hinkie and Michael Rubin are long gone. Plus Morey is the GM who would rather trade Embiid earlier than later, or not trade him at all if he requests it.
Why does r/nba not take down fluff pieces? Actually if OP posts it, it’s probably a fluff piece.
So one quote from a different article of Embiid saying he is “happy to be a Sixer” is what inspired this unsourced article? Besides the need for clicks obviously.
I get Sixer fans not wanting to buy into the outside noise wanting an Embiid trade, but I definitely wouldn’t look to this article as a reason to feel better about the Sixers
Let’s see where he’s at a month into the season if things aren’t going well
Paul Hudrick is on the front page of NBA Reddit lololol truly in the dog days
Aren’t you laying it on a bit thick, u/dmorey?
Hmm, I wonder where this came from.
I know the instinct is always just “Trade inbound” as a take but I’ll go with a hotter take and say I believe Embiid has great vibes with the Sixers, because he’s not looking to actually contend. He’s fine doing whatever this is.
Oh sure, once he loses his step it’ll be a different story, once his prime is gone he’ll suddenly want to contend seriously but right now it’s all gravy baby. Dude gets MVP and then on their post-season exit after shitting his pants is like, “it can’t just be Harden and me out there.” I know guys who give a lot of slack to the more controversial characters in the league that still can’t stand the guys attitude. There’s something about Embiid that just feels unserious.
And it’s not even a Philly hate thing to be clear. I hate the Eagles but I at least know Jalen Hurts and that entire team wants to win. This is strictly something I feel is off about Embiid. I think Knicks fans want to see him here for some reason but I can’t imagine if it happened it becoming more than just a bigger whine convention than it already is with him.
That’s just me though.
I think Embiid doesn’t take missing out on championships as badly as we the fans do. He’s there for a good time, if they fail expectations? well he didn’t have high hopes to begin with.
We have all seen the same shit year after year with these stars. Embiid will ask out within the next 2 yrs
Does anyone want to bet whether or not Embiid is gone after next offseason? Everyone seems to be accept it’s a given lol.
He gone
Embiid is going to be in the exact same position as Harden in a couple of years.
I guarantee Morey is going to try and pull that team friendly 1+1 bullshit with Embiid too. Whatever Embiid says now, he’s not going to take a discount after this.
It’s one thing for a GM to finesse another GM (still long term bad imo) but if you do it to one of your stars then you’re going to be bargain shopping and having to overpay going forward.
This is his last year there
Yeah when this puff article has to come out, you are in trouble lmaooooo
