– Frank Ramsey: First sixth man in NBA history and was actually really good.
– KC Jones, Tom Sanders, Larry Siegfried: Great pieces to compliment the Celtics big 3. I don’t think Tom gets enough credit. RIP KC Jones.
– Don Nelson: Hit one of the biggest shots in Celtics history (top 5) and was a vital part of 5 championships. Hall of fame.
– Chris Ford: Doesn’t get enough credit but was a big part of our 81 team that beat Houston. A great piece to have with Bird. RIP Chris Ford.
– Gerald Henderson: Won a NBA finals game by stealing the ball from Worthy and we scored a layup. Played 5 seasons with us and really wished we kept him longer. Literally played a game with a neck brace and was a great piece for our big 3. Played like a Celtic.
– Danny Ainge/Dennis Johnson: Nasty backcourt that gets it done on both ends. When you have all star players who can sit back and be a role player that’s just a plus. Greatest team ever in 86 no doubt.
– Cedric Maxwell: I feel like cuz he got a FMVP people will not think of him as a role player, but I still do. When a team has a big 3 you gotta have your own role and be good at it. He just happened to be really good in that finals series and throughout his career.
– James Posey/Eddie House: Posey was only here for 1 season but brought us a championship. Worst mistake Danny ainge made was not re-signing him. Eddie House was another big piece off the bench. If he got hot it was over for the opponent, a great backup for Ray Allen.
Whose your favorite? Am I missing anyone? I’m tryna stick with years we won a championship. Putting guys that we didn’t win with like Eric Williams just didn’t sit well with me although I got love for him too. Let me know.
