The Thunder Have HUGE Decisions To Make Right Now…

The OKC Thunder are one of the most interesting teams in the NBA this season, and are looking to make a huge jump.

  1. If ive learnt anything being a Cavs fan, do not rush to make a big trade and put a ceiling on your team. As soom as we made the Mitchell trade, it capped us at a conference finals at best.

  2. Okc should (and Will) Focus on continuity and development this year, they have 6 new guys. Then, Next year when LAL, LAC, GSW, MIL and others break, then is when the move is coming

  3. The thing is there needs to be a coach who can put plug and play type of players who aren’t afraid of accepting their role on the roster. If not then trade those players for more draft picks who ur afraid of not playing in the system that they’re trying to cultivate and build

  4. OKC is in the most enjoyable period for an NBA franchise: full of young promising talent. This will be a more fun team to watch than if they traded for veteran star. By far. Let them marinate. Let them be a TEAM, for gawd's sakes. A poster pointed out that when Cleveland was roughly in a similar situation, they chose to trade for Donovan Mitchell. Now Mitchell's fate (and his satisfaction, or lack thereof) color everything else the Cavs were trying to do. And the team did not appreciably improve for title contention. Also, waiting for the inevitable national media's "SGA has to get out of Oklahoma City" whining.

  5. All they need is an Eleit 2 and the can trade the rest off the team 4 a bench crew so a 6 man 2 there future line up can easily b Chet giddy@the4 dort __2? $ she’s off course + a good supporting cast and hood 6 man this is a dynasty Chet is under 73 I think he can stay healthy

  6. The 2024 – 2025 unrestricted free agent classes ain't that exciting. Either develop the ones they have and hope at least another all star develops or make a big splash trade.

  7. Would be crazy if they trade the other Jalen Williams and stuff for Siakam, then just have a god-tier starting 5

  8. As a thunder fan an interesting concept is keeping all four long term and then using the first round picks to cycle through rookie scale contracts for the foreseeable future and trade those guys before they hit RFA and keep the core in tact, recycling assets as you go. My understanding of the new CBA is that you could theoretically keep all your homegrown talent but the only players you can add above the second apron would be rookie scale guys or minimum contract guys and I think that’s where the thunder have an advantage with all this homegrown talent. Anyway I think Presti is easily top five gm (I think he’s the best gm, but that’s probably a homer take). Excited for this team!

  9. Here is the "ugly truth". Giddey is the odd man out! They drafted Wallace and signed Micic for a reason…

I dont say Giddey will 100% be traded, BUT next summer will be freaking interestig… specially if Chet can stay healthy and works as a starter. Just saying… Its not a given, but if Giddey doesnt make a huge jump in efficiency, I wouldnt extend him for the Max, and then he is a really great trade chip. Lets say, just for the fun of it, Boston looses early in the PO again and Tatum doesnt want to sign a Supermax extension, cause the team is stuck with Brown/KP on long high contracts, while having no Cap Space whatsoever… just an example. What about the Giannis comments? How does that play out? Even Embiid could work next to Holmgren… does anyone think Embiid will stay much longer in Phili? So if ANY star SF/PF/C is on the market, Giddey+Dort +picks works, cause the Thunder still have a lot of cap space AND good layers to fill out the roles of those 2 guys!

  10. I don’t think they’ll make any significant move this year especially since there are a bunch of teams better than okc as of right now

  11. the OKC thunder is the biggest example of how the NBA trying to stop the creation of super teams punishes teams who has traded well, drafted well and developed players well. As a new OKC fan im intrested but really anxious about the future of this team

  12. "I think Chet is gonna help them in term of rim protection ability" – Hotest SL take

  13. I don't see OKC that formidable team. Yes SGA is a superstar but he needs more shooters around him and Giddey and Dort are bad shooters.
We will see if Chet is a dominant center to put them ahead.
For me, OKC is a borderline playoff team. Maybe in the play-in tournament they get out of playoffs.

  14. I think the first decision the Thunder needs to make is what to do with Josh Giddey. As talented as he is his fit on any roster is tricky as long as his 3 point shooting is below league average. His fit on this roster is even trickier because the other lead ball handler SGA is league average at best from distance. If I had to guess I'd posit that Presti moves sooner rather than later in terms of moving Giddey. I'm pretty convinced that Presti will move Giddey unless he improves his 3 point shot. There's plenty of evidence to suggest that having two primary ball handlers that can't shoot puts a hard ceiling on how far a team can go.

  15. I don't see why anything needs to change. The core is solid. The bench is one of the better groups in the league. The only X factor really is Chet. From the very small sample of him playing with the team, it looks like he'll be just fine. This video really didn't need to be made, except a video had to be made, so this is the one we got.

  16. A lot of y’all would make bad gm okc don’t have to do anything right now we seen to many teams do trades to contend to early when they’d don’t what they have then cap themselves out also the reason okc got a lot of assets to trade for depth that why okc have 20’players on roster every year because back then we had bad depth and just two star players okc learned from their mistakes

Also y’all what okc to trade for a star which will make it harder to keep their stars okc will ride out this season then make trade in the off-season for role they can keep the main core it the role players that be hard but with their assets can easily trade or draft role players

Also y’all stay trying to rush the process why would okc push the button on a play in team the same thing the Timberwolves, hawks, and cavs did now they all cap out and can’t make any moves to get better it make more sense if okc was the grizzlies
