How would you rate our young core?

Let’s see how unbiased we can be

In reality I think we’re in the middle. I’m going to watch a lot of those teams this year though and am looking forward to watching this group come up.

My homer rating says number 1. Realistically in the bottom half until we add Holland or Flagg

  3. If I had to put it in tiers

    1. Thunder

    Absolutely massive gap

    2. Spurs

    3. Pacers, Magic, Hornets

    4. Blazers, Rockets, Pistons

Personally I’d probably put us 6th or 7th with the Rockets and I’d put the pistons at 8th. I like Amen and Jabari, but hate Jalen. And I’m just not a fan of the pistons guys at all.

Not sure on how I’d rank tier 3. The magic have the best balance of their trio, but Haliburton is the best player of the grouping and Lamelo is an all star too, though he’s got some injury concerns. I’d probably go Pacers, Magic, Hornets though

I think we might have the best 1 through 3 but our #1 guy isn’t anywhere near the top of the list here.

I’m also not sure SGA gets to count as “young” core. He’s 25.

Thunder are easily #1 if we’re counting Shai(who is 25). Spurs, Magic, Pacers are most definitely above us. It’s us, Detroit, and Houston for the bottom 3 in my opinion. I would have us above Detroit but below Houston. Our 3 guys all being guards is rough.

We are really in the first year of the rebuild though, with the picks from Dame + the pick we get this year we should hopefully be higher up.

Ant Simon’s isn’t part of the Blazers’ core going forward. He will be traded this year closer to the trade deadline.

Pshhh. We have a young core FOUR. Murray will be in this conversation. Mark my words

As many other people have said, its the Thunder, then everyone else. But is the core these three players, or rest of the team as well, because if its just three, i struggle to see which teams have a higher upside than us.

Like how many of these trios would you trade Scoot, Shae and Ant for?

For me, probably San Antonio, but only because the Wemby, the other two dont do much for me. I would consider OKC, but i think the upside of our three outweigh the upside of the thunder three, probably weight down by giddey. Plus Shai is 25, does that count as young core?

Thunder, Spurs, Magic, Blazers, Pacers, Hornets, Rockets, Pistons

I think that Scoot, Simons, Shaedon, at the 1-2-3 is the future. They will all grow bigger than they are now. It will take them a few more years to not be negatives on defense, but once they cross that barrier, they will all be perennial all stars.

Simons and Sharpe could each be 30 ppg scorers, and Scoot 20p/11a/7r/2s/1b. Simons best shooter in the league by volume and efficiency. Shaedon MVP.

I could see them all making 1st team all nba in the same year at their peak. Which I can’t think of any time off the top of my head where that’s happened before.

  11. Pizzadontdie

Hard to tell before we see Scoot play a real game. My guess is near the bottom of that group for now.

    1). OKC.

    2). Orlando

    3). San Antonio

    4). Indiana

    5). Portland

    6). Charlotte

    7). Detroit

    8). Houston

  13. tblazrdude

    1). OKC

    2). Orlando

    3). San Antonio

    4). Portland

    5). Indiana

    6). Houston

    7). Charlotte

    8). Detroit

This assumes Sharpe will make a big leap this year. Houston and Detroit both just drafted their best players in the Thompson twins, but other than that, it’s really tough sledding for those franchises.

It’s alright. Need to add a big man this next draft. Thankfully the top is that and big forwards.

Would love if we added Clingan.

If we had Duren instead of Simons I would rate it top 2 or 3

  15. 1. Thunder
    2. Magic
    3. Pistons
    4. Pacers
    5. Blazers
    6. Spurs
    7. Rockets
    8. Hornets

Like 5 or 6th. But I don’t think Ant is staying. I think they showcase him to get something in return and he’s gonna by ASG.
