Jason Timpf continues his ranking of the top 25 players of the last 25 years by revealing No. 4, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. Jason breaks down the reasons why Steph is the greatest shooter of all time, whether the Warriors’ addition of Kevin Durant hurt his legacy, and whether his 2022 NBA championship may be his most important.

Great video, but the leadership aspect of Curry is bit overrated in this video. If he was the best leader in the league Jordan Poole would still be on team.
Last 25?
1. LeBrick
2. KD
3. Kobe
4. Shaq
5. Dwade
6. Timmy
7. Dirk
8. Steph
9. Kawahi
10. KD
this one had wayy more editorial content than others. i get it its steph. no issues w where he is on this list. i agree hes a great leader and one of the goats. he cemented his legacy in 2022 but many of the narratives leading up to it were fair at the time.
-2015 steph got more luck than most in the nba finals. on top of that the starting pg was injured for all 3 teams he played in the west. so the luck narrative was fair at the time (he lost one the same way tho so it more or less evens out in the end)
– steph wasnt v efficient in the 2015 finals compared to the steph we know today. he was a poor iso player on both sides of the ball esp against more size an strength. ppl thought lebron shouldve won fmvp on the losing team… steph wasnt rly at the at the top of the game it was clear he had work to do. not to take anything away from his competitiveness but again the narratives that he wasnt in that upper tier of guys was fair.
– 2016 he ascended to top tier but kd WAS the better player that yr and throughout the kd warriors error. kd deserved those fmvps (gotta remember what pre-injury kd was like on defense and as a playmaker to add to his, at least, steph level scoring prowess
– after the 2022 championship draymond went on the jj reddick podcast and said that the '22 steph is way better than the steph pre and during the kd years. he said basically due to more strength, endurance and confidence/understanding of how good he was. he even said that they NEEDED kd and that steph couldnt have led them to championships as the clear #1 at the time. so old narratives that didnt put him on the level we do now weren't off-base necessarily
Im curious how to evaluate Lebron and Curry both are really good and have 4 Titles Lebron is over him but by how much. Is the list Kobe, Tim Duncan and then Lebron at one because that does not make sense.
Appreciate the answer! Wasn't sure if the what-if section factored into the rankings, great to hear it doesn't cheers- James
Steph's conditioning and stamina also help in the playoffs. He is constantly running on offense and is active on defense. In 2022 you could see the other team tiring over the course of a series.
My guess it would be #3 Tim Duncan #2 Kobe Bryant and #1 Lebron James
If Steph gets another ring I think we would consider him number 2 would he be worthy of 1 ?
I think KD to the Warriors is easily one of the most legacy damaging moves all time. And not just to KD.
but literally knocked Lebron from the GOAT debate. Affected Stephs obviously.
But just think about how different we’d view Kyrie if he had a second ring. Or Westbrook if he made another deep run with KD. Maybe Kawhi gets another ring with the Spurs. Or what about James Houston and Chris Paul potentially getting a ring?
Theres at least 7 superstar players whose legacies could be very different jad KD not joined the Warriors…
So the top 3 are all Lakers. Ok homer
#3 Duncan
#2 Kobe
#1 Lebron
If this guy gets to First Take I'd be a happy man
When I look at steph I think there are two things are true one is that he is a greater player than Kevin Durant in this era. The second thing that is true is that he did need Kevin Durant in order to beat LeBron
Why are you continuing the narrative instead of really giving props to Steph. He’s the best player in the last 10 years. Beat Lebron 3 times in thr finals Hilarious
Rich Paul also said if Steph won in the bubble no one would say it was fake. He’s rent free in all their heads lol
KD wanted Steph let’s not get it twisted.
leg strength is the thing
Steph was the best for every championship….KD needed Steph not the other way around….
Steph is number 1 hands down!!!
Wait where’s Tim Duncan and Kobe?
Thanks Jason, you rock!
I was certain steph was going to be ahead of Kobe. He was my favourite player growing up, but in all fairnes, steph is better P4P
Mail bag question
Who do you think has prove that they deserve an NBA roaster spot during this world cup?
I think Arturs Zagars could play as a pointguard for the suns.
LOVE all your work❤
No way KD is ranked higher than Curry. First time im disagreeing with you.
Steph with 3 rings without KD would get MUCH more credit and respect
Steph won 4 rings in what people call "The LeBron era"😂
The people Putting down the two championships with kd should also put down the championships when lebron won in Miami and Cleveland and LA. That’s all of lebrons teams.
2016 they only lost because of hunting the Bullsrekord combined with Draymond being Draymond and having to pay for it.
Luka isn't selling a fake he "just" switches when the defender chooses a side.
Mailbag question: Looking at the 2023 NBA All Stars, which player will win their first ring next? Not looking at the players who have already won a ring.
