Personally I like it and think you can tell who’s shoe it is. Devin has a fairly unique style for the nba. He likes the classic/vintage look and tends to be pretty minimalist.
People are going to hate that’s what people do but the same people will go crazy for the Kobe 4 retros which imo look incredibly similar to the book 1.

I do think they’re a bit of a disappointment with regards to being a basketball shoe, although I will try and pick up the black pair as a nice lifestyle shoe if they release.

I don’t care about shoes, so I’m going full unbiased. They aren’t wrong. They don’t look like “traditional” basketball shoes. Which I’m sure was the goal, but doesn’t change first impressions. More so, that orange and orange does not look good at all. Maybe some other color combo will be good, but the orange and orange looks like a cheeto puff. The black and gold one even more so like a skater shoe.

It’s funny they keep saying it doesn’t look like a performance shoe, I said the same thing, but it’s clear from the marketing materials that was intentional. Booker values function *and* form. I think it’s great we’ll get a modern signature shoe that can work on the court and with whatever fits you wanna throw together, ala the Jordan 1/3/4.

Looking objectively the shoes suck the color way is weird and the materials look dated. Now if the shoe is a good performance shoe and looks “unique” I’m all for it. As long as it’s not some BBB shoe that’s gonna get D Book injured like the Z 01’s did to Lonzo because neither one looks like a basketball shoe to be honest.
