MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) — Houston Rockets guard Kevin Porter is under arrest in New York City Monday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, a WNBA player, police sources told ABC News.
Porter, 23, is in custody at the NYPD’s 17th precinct in Midtown.
Porter returned early Monday morning from an evening out to the Millennium Hotel in Times Square where he and his girlfriend were staying.
According to police sources, the victim was upset with the late hour of his return and locked the door.
Once he entered with the help of hotel security, Porter is accused of beating up the woman, the sources said.
The extent of the victim’s injuries was not immediately clear.
Domestic assault charges are pending against Porter.

First and foremost I hope Kysre is safe and with the right people now, she’s had a tough career and to be a potential victim of DV is horrible for any woman who’s already had it rough mentally.
I really wanted to believe in KPJ but how many chances did the league and teams give this guy just for him to break almost every single time? It’s disappointing and nasty all-around.
With the structure of his contract and his history, plus Ime surely not allowing something like this be condoned on his watch, this could legitimately be the end of KPJ’s NBA career. NBA will gather facts…NBA has been harder on drug violations than they have domestic assault, regrettably. We’ll see what happens as training camps are around the corner.
Most important is the health of the victim. I hope she’s OK and didn’t suffer any permanent injury and has a support team around her that will comfort her and care for her at this traumatic time.
Rockets on the court I think will be OK but have lost their 6th man. Aaron Holiday is a very good 3rd PG and solid backup PG and will step in. Good chance they sign someone on the market to address the PG spot now. Ish Smith is available.
