> Kysre Gondrezick is breaking her silence in the alleged Kevin Porter Jr. assault case — asking people to “avoid speculation” about what really happened in a New York hotel room on Monday morning before the Houston Rockets guard was arrested.

> The 23-year-old Porter was charged with assault and strangulation on Monday by New York police for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, Gondrezick, at the Millennium Hilton New York Hotel.

> But a source close to Gondrezick exclusively tells The Post that she has not made a statement to the cops about the incident, and her lawyer further says that what has been reported from her side is “misleading and inaccurate” — without elaborating on specifics.

> The source familiar with the former WNBA player told us that Gondrezick, “has not given a statement to [law enforcement], and complained to them that what’s being attributed to her is inaccurate and to stop it. These are not her words.”

> Gondrezick’s statement via her lawyer casts doubt on the reported version of events, including her medical condition, though her reps would not comment further about the incident.

> Porter, whose full name is Bryan Kevin Porter Jr., was released on $75,000 bail at an arraignment hearing and a judge granted a full temporary restraining order against him.

sounds like she’s going back to him

  2. RallyPigeon

Hopefully she isn’t siding with her abuser. Although that isn’t an uncommon thing with DV unfortunately.

Uhhh…… how did you end up with those neck injuries then

  4. KANGZNATION

Abused goes back to the abuser. Nothing new here

  5. HoagieTwoFace

Oh so this is why the rockets are trying to trade him with picks. He may actually get away with it.

  6. EyePea9

Asks people not to speculate. Everyone here is speculating. Wish denied.

  7. Only1Throne

Mans damn near killed her and she bout to protect his ass 🤦🏾‍♂️

  8. Being asked to ‘avoid speculation’ about what happened to a woman whose neck was fractured and was bleeding while running out of the room from a man who is likely a sociopath feels like I’m being gaslit. As if there are numerous things that could have happened, and to conclude that she got the shit kicked out of her is jumping to conclusions. It pisses me off, hope this guy never touches a basketball again

Something tells me there might be some hush money being sent her way to not comment negatively on the situation. Super fucked situation regardless

    Her: please avoid speculation

r/nba: so here’s what I think this statement *really* means

Y’all are way too quick to dump on her for “going back” when this doesn’t even imply that. It MAY be possible, but let’s give her the benefit of the doubt first as the actual victim here

She very well could still be going forward, but the reports are just inaccurate and with it getting national attention she needs to distance herself from those inaccuracies especially when they’re saying SHE said or reported these things

New York laws are super strict against DV. Unlike other states they don’t care if the abused presses charges or not to move forward with prosecution.

The fact this story (her ‘breaking silence’, not the alleged incident itself) is still making the rounds on this sub really speaks to the reading comprehension skills of r/nba nephews.

Theres nothing in her lawyers comments that suggest the incident didnt happen, or that suggest shes defending/denying the abuse she recieved.

Some of you are so fucking limited.

This just screams DV to me. So many times the victim tries to defend the abuser. It’s actually really sad. This makes me think he is a perpetrator even more honestly if that was possible beyond the physical evidence.

“Anonymous Sources” and New York Post aren’t usually a good thing together

Someone needs a payday. Broke ass ball players can’t payout

Bet she won’t front the media, as I’m sure all the bruises and damage from the “speculation” will be hard to hide.

Man this whole case is fucked now 🤦‍♂️

Can’t help someone that doesn’t want to be helped, sad.

Curious what the angle here is, seems like she’s trying to salvage the relationship with this move. But what’s been reported is pretty damning

Reminds me of something a dude told me once “a dude smacked my sister and I went over there and beat his ass, I was still in jail and she had already got back with him”

  22. She’s had time to think about the bag she might fumble.

  23. geistsein

“I can change him,” she further added

  24. mrjdk83

Yo you don’t have a broken neck just cause. He doesn’t get arrested just cause. These type of things happen with in these case which is sad
