  1. Like with most anything else, someone somewhere will always find a way to abuse and/or exploit mechanics. Take for example the Harden rules that were modified quite recently.

  2. I remember when “rest” was playing your starters 20-25 mins for the few games prior to the playoffs.

  3. Better have your doctors note like when you were in school 😂😂😂

  4. Now how the players get around this is , getting in the game play about .5sec maybe .30seconds then get benched for the rest of the game. It’s really that simple

  5. Creating a play in mvp and than giving the play in mvp an automatic all nba selection has got to be one of the dumbest things I’ve heard. If the T wolves won that game against the lakers Mike Conley likely would of got that mvp, now imagine having to give Mike Conley 260 Million cause of one game, and even worse imagine being jaylen brown averaging 28 a game throughout the season on a contender to make that all nba team, and you lose it to Mike Conley now you don’t get that 304 milliondollar contract. 🤦🏽‍♂️

  6. I don't know if the NBA owners see what the players actions are, the actions of the players is basically saying the 82 regular season is too long. It has always been too long, players are not going to say anything because it will affect their cash.

  7. Fans & media contradict themselves. They say the regular season is too long and doesn't matter as much as the playoffs and winning championships does.

So team's decided to try to protect/rest their players during the regular season when the games aren't quite as important, so that their key players will be fresher and/or available for the playoffs which fans and media said is what matters most to them

Make up your mind people, either you care about the regular season or not. Stop complaining about players sitting out games in a season you feel is too long and less meaningful to begin with

  8. Yall dont want other players to get opportunities. Money hungry. Superstar cant make the whole team

  9. They didn't to themselves the players have nobody to blame but themselves imagine being a fan you pay all that money for a lakers vs heat game and Anthony Davis , Jimmy butler and LeBron are all resting

  10. They should call it the Bryant policy. Kobe played through injuries and sicknesses because he thought of the hardworking people that spent their money to come see him. I think those very principles can be followed by everyone and that's why they should name it the Bryant rule or something

  11. All the plumbers (you said) in the 80s and the 90s played 81 games without any reason (unless they are injured)
This era has many alibis not to play while they are getting paid SMH

  12. Players getting paid millions to play a game stop being so lazy n go do your job u would never see this in a different league

  13. I don't have a problem with resting players. Just make sure

    NO PLAY – NO PAY.

To be fair to all of us ordinary people.

  14. I bet these diva's will play 2 minutes then call it a day. I tell you.

  15. TEAMS COULD GET AROUND THIS BY LETTING THEIR STAR PLAYER WHO THEY WANT TO REST BUT CANT TO PLAY FOR 2 MINUTES ONLY FOR THE GAME AND SAY HE EXPERIENCED SOME SORENESS SO THEY TOOK HIM OUT .

  16. I LOVE THIS! Make them soft. Spoiled bastards play! Us hard working Americans don't take days off for sore backs lol

  17. Why do they keep bringing up the lakers ? Lmao lebron rest like 2 or 3 games a year n we can actually see Anthony Davis is getting hurt. They wont really be affected by this at all

  18. It's insane that a league has a say in a team line up. They brainwashed fans to accept that the nba is a spectacle and that people only pay to see the superstars. That's not real fan culture.

  19. there is the larry bird rule and the shaq rule. this rule should be called the pop/kawhi/kyrie rule.

  20. Need to know more about these adjustments to know if it's gonna work or not. It would be better if teams just have the possibility of not paying the player who is injured and they would just get a universal minimum by a health policy.
By doing that, the team can decide if they want to use the player or not (resting) but pay him/her anyway, and the player will also be able to decide if he wants to consider himself injured (even though he/she is actually resting) knowing that he/she won't be paid according with his contract.
This way, you also solve the max contract problem a little bit

  21. Kawhi will be forced to play back to back games and will anmounce retirement afterwards.

  22. THE NBA NEEDS A TANKING POLICY. THEY SHOULD NOT GIVE TEAMS LOTTERY PICKS FOR TANKING. WHAT ABOUT THE FANS WHO HAVE TO ENDURE PAYING TO SEE GAMES OF TANKING TEAMS

  23. soft azz generation .. players from the 90s n early 2000s are having a fit bout this resting players bs ..

  24. Lebron – "We playing too many games."
MJ – " And he wants to be the GOAT?"

  25. The NBA makes money because the fan pays for the product, and this needed to be something since when.

These players and teams that want to take time off because they want to be fresh when science suggests they already are fresh without these players feeling entitled they can sit because they are the ones that have the contracts..

Players like Kawhi and players that have missed so much time because of injuries… lets not forget for example. Kawhi has only played in about 40% of his games over the past 5 years and when he has played, hes been able to pick and choose when he plays, and has gotten serious bag over this time.

This rule where teams can no longer implement rests, and games are actually meaningful being at or near full strength rather than the b teams playing.

It will be interesting to see what happens if these rules are broken

  26. Still players EGO and STAT chasing, otherwise no rest needed, there's always DNP-CD
