To me the internet and social media peaked around 2013. You still had the fun, innocuous trends and other things that the internet had throughout the 2000’s but also it being way more advanced to the point where everything was more convenient and easy to use. Social media seemed like it was something people generally used to have fun with, not take seriously, and share silly stupid shit instead of something people use to constantly be outraged and spread hate and negativity. Looking back it is crazy to think how much has changed over the internet and social media in just 10 years. What used to be fun just now seems mentally exhausting, artificial, and just frankly depressing (to me at least).
