We basically let 1 important, underperforming, starter walk, and nobody notable from the bench left. We added Shroder, McDaniels, Gradey, OPJ is back, Loko might be ready for minutes. Then there are 5 other new guys of which 2 can probably contribute at the NBA level, even if small. Barnes, GTJ, and OG should all be expected to improve.

    It’s nothing like last year…..hopefully.

I agree with this video. People can debate the top-end talent and how it stacks up to true ‘chip contenders (it doesn’t), but the bench is deep and functional this year.

Set aside the Dennis vs. GTJ topic as it doesn’t matter when discussing depth:

    Scottie-GTJ-OG-Pascal-Yak

Dennis easily plays 30 mins as 6th man or starter

If Dennis is 6th man, OPJ or Dick comes on to add back shooting when GTJ sits

Agree with the video on Jalen, even without additional growth (he’s 25) he’s a strong 8th man and a versatile wing that can defend, handle a bit, shoot enough to stay on the floor

And then 9 through 12 can be any of OPJ/Dick (whoever wasn’t 7th), Koloko, Precious, Boucher, Flynn/Dowtin (whatever small guard is on the roster) etc.

I think that matches up decently against other team’s 2nd units, especially rosters that are top-loaded with expensive talent and less depth.
