The Lakers Could Be Really Freaking Good This Year | JJ Redick

Welcome to another episode of The Old Man and The Three Things with JJ Redick and Tommy Alter. While we wait for movement on Damian Lillard and James Harden, we thought we’d talk through our favorite “under-the-rader” acquisitions. In this clip, both Tommy and JJ spend some time talking about Taurean Prince on The Los Angeles Lakers and why he could be a solid piece for them. They also talk about the depth around LeBron James and Anthony Davis being incredible.

  1. Who’s gonna be the playmaker when LeBron’s not on the court? DLo? Is he good enough to be the ball handler and playmaker?

  2. Weak at centre and the best guard is Reeves…. That's it. LeBron is weak and slow… Wood is a slow no hops no defence trade bait roster filler… Good looking guys… Eye candy for rich single milfs in L.A.

  3. I see us going 60-22 Rui being 6th man of the year and A.D winning mvp💜💛🫡

  4. Lakers wont want to go 12 deep, you get no rhythm. Once they start getting injured they will have good depth

  5. As a Lakers fan, I like our chances. I like how management prioritized depth and wing defense over "big name" value.

  6. This argument is easily dismantled with the fact that D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reeves are their 3rd & 4th best players. 🤣

  7. To all you laker haters!

    Lakers last season
    Lakers without AD: 10-10
Lakers without LeBron in March: 18-8
Lakers overall without one of their Star players 28-18

Lakers are better this season because of facts! They were able to maintain games over .500 without their Star players last season with a team that was made in less than 3 months at the trade deadline. Lakers got better in the offseason! Even without AD or LeBron, they are still better than 80% of teams in the NBA and you haters won’t admit it or just plain casuals

  8. The Lakers are …ok. But when I think who are the title contenders in the west it's the Nuggets in the first 5 spots and then teams like Memphis or Golden State or even Mavericks before I would ever bet on Lakers. I feel like there's a lot of potential for regression in the starting five

  9. So many people in the comments talking about the talent and depth on the Lakers, same MF going to give all the credit to Lebron even if he misses 40 games LOL.

  10. I'll bet on healthy Nuggets against any team next May and June. Joker is the best player now until proven otherwise.

  11. They gon do what the cavs did a couple years ago. Sign a bunch of good name players and then trade them before trade deadline

  12. Dude, I'm so tired of hearing y'all pander to and advertise for LeBron and the Lakers. They'll be trash because the team will be more involved with getting LeBron his numbers and records than they will be with winning. And if they're losing all the guys you say the team is loaded with will be the problem.

  13. Dlo should get traded before the deadline. Ham is incapable of making good rotations

  14. Wood gonna become unplayable mark my words. He’s stubborn n not good. He could shoot but hes not a knock down shooter

  15. This is the best fit team lebron had in a minute. They go as far as his and ADs health. So maybe not that far

  16. Tbh idk I’ll have to see it to believe because apparently the lights are to bright when people play with lebron. They somehow aren’t the same player

  17. This roster is super deep and im really looking forward to seeing cam reddish, hayes and christian wood reach their potential. Max christie too! Ppl are going to really enjoy watching the lakers play this year. Even the haters. Lolol

  18. Stole the Minneapolis Lakers and now stealing our players from 2-3 years ago!! lol Beasley, dlo, prince, vanderbilt.. Honestly surprised Beasley didn't pan out, DLO is umm good luck lol, Prince and especially vanderbilt are very very good role players.

  19. Ad is unreliable and completely undermines team chemistry with his injuries. None of these moves matter . Trade Ad it’s the only chance to find a decent rhythm as a team.

  20. Too many factors come into play with how good the Lakers could be this year and it all starts with a subpar coach named Darvin Ham. His poor coaching, rotations, and strategy cost the Lakers a lot of winnable games because he wanted of his bad decisions when it came to lineups and coaching. All the new player additions will mean nothing if Darvin Ham can't figure out a way to utilize them efficiently to maximize their potential. He over used Lebron and was completely out coached by the Nuggets.

  21. What no one knows is that Giannis is coming to the Blazers 🙏. Portland wins the chip I’m calling it

  22. LeBron is over a long time ago, they are recruiting as many people as possible to cover the aging diva.😂

  23. Jj Reddick knows basketball. Retard gambling twittwr clearly doesn't. Shocker

  24. Oh man we gotta talk about lakers groan Later: Clip it on their own channel.

  25. All these guys can talk about is Lebron. Is Lebron the only thing that exist in the NBA?

  26. I LOVE these lakers. They’re just good enough to be talked about before the season starts and it’ll be all the more sweet when they get swept by the nuggets again.

  27. Ridiculous, Lebron 40 and AD a bag a bones with a bunch of overrated talent that nobody wants.
