Oubre is not a great player overall but he is a solid player as a 7th man or something which is what he’ll be in Philadelphia. 20 PPG guys don’t grow on trees. He isn’t gonna do it efficiently but as a backup playing 18-25 minutes that matters less.
He will put points on the board, and the Sixers needed that with their backup rotation..I think it’s a positive signing. Before this signing, Danuel House was slated to be the backup SF this season for the Sixers. House/Green is not a contending team’s backup SF rotation.
I wonder if this means the Sixers do indeed release Harrell who is out for the season. The Sixers cannot afford to waste roster spots with Harden/Embiid’s histories and the Harden dilemma. I wonder if Petrusev makes the roster or if the Sixers look to add another big on the market. He may not be a lock to make the team. He doesn’t have fully guaranteed money and Harrell does. I could see both being released.
Well he will certainly put up shots and will definitely look good doing it. Results may vary.
