Cleanest and most balanced trade I could come up with based on all the rumors.

Tried to avoid too much weirdness with amount of players, pick moves to avoid stepien etc. That said, pick moves/swaps could get Portland one more first out of Miami.

Portland gets: Young star level frontcourt player with playoffs experience, talented young frontcourt player that just got off a deep World Cup run, multiple picks, 30M expiring contract.

Nets get: to fill their hole at shot creation and swap expiring contracts for a good rotation player.

Heat get: a proven superstar and rotation depth

Suns get: cap relief and depth by breaking up the Ayton contract

This honestly seems really solid. I look forward to being brigaded by Heat fants who hate it, but from where I’m sitting it seems reasonable for all teams.

Blazers fans will crow that this is a subpar return for Dame but Ayton is a piece we can at least theoretically build around, and I think people underestimate the value in getting OFF of Dame’s contract.

This might be one if the better ones I’ve seen, there isn’t anything obvious where one team would completely reject

  3. This is probably the best proposal I’ve seen overall. I still want at least 1 pick that isn’t damn near guaranteed to be 20+ though.

Really like this trade actually. Only thing I would say is that the Nets are getting off a bit light though considering Dinwiddie and Royce are both expiring. Throwing a Brooklyn protected first Portland’s way and I think everyone agrees.

So the heat got nothing for Hero Martin shouldn’t Brooklyn at least throw in a pick.

I do think the suns do good here getting of the the 2nd window tax bracket

Add in Jaime Jaquez Jr and this is great!

  7. Frowny_Biscuit

Seems like the Suns would need more.

  8. Pretty decent. Seems like the Heat are getting too much here still for what they are giving up. But that’s just cause I love my boy Dame maybe. Also feels like the Suns aren’t getting enough for Ayton. I know they are over him, but he’s a damn good player to give up for Nurkic and O’Neale. But that extra cap space might be nice for them as well.

I’d take it, but why would the Suns do it?

Damn, Phoenix getting fleeced! Sign me up!

Add one more pick coming to POR from BKN and I think this is close.

  12. waynearchetype

only 2 picks and not even their rookie?

I think we should be getting Jaquez and Brooklyn just giving up Dinshittie and Royce for Herro and Martin is bad.

Does it work with Martin going to PHX, Royce going to us, and Nas going to Brooklyn?

    Otherwise I like it.

  14. BullyDoggy1982

Is it possible to send Ayton to Brooklyn for Claxton, Simmons and additional picks?

  15. ArugulaGazebo

I like this! Not an amazing return, but at this point this might be the best a GM like Joe could manage, and it isn’t a bad return either.

  16. EggForging

PHX would never do this if they are actually trying to win a title this year. A disgruntled DA is still miles better than constantly injured Nurkic

  17. I did one kinda similar at work today.

    MIA: Lillard, McDermott

    PHX: Nurkic, Graham

    SAS: Herro

POR: Ayton, Lowry, JJJ, Jovic, 2024 Toronto 1st, 2027+2029 Miami Firsts

  18. Looks pre good for everyone but the suns, not sure why they would do this when they can potentially get more for Ayton elsewhere. Not exactly like they are getting horny for Nurk and O’Neal.

Great trade! Love the idea of replenishing heats guard depth with Dinwiddies expiring. As a heat fan, don’t like giving up Caleb Martin, but keeping Jaime Jaquez makes it worth.

Picks a half a decade+ away don’t do POR any good. POR gets DA, and a player they don’t want, to buy out Lowry…

Again, MIA doesn’t have anything POR actually wants. BKN has a better package, and POR and BKN could do a Dame deal without anyone else involved. If PHX wants to get off Ayton for a couple of vets, POR and BKN still don’t need MIA.

I like this one 👌 I think Brooklyn should send a 2025 pick to Miami and Miami should send a 2024 pick to Portland. Everything else looks good

Caleb has always been the holdup from the Heat perspective, if they’re going all in on a two year run with Dame they need him for at least one year.

More likely is trading JJJ to OKC to switch the pick owed, allowing them to trade three of their own firsts plus the fourth coming from Herro.

Heat fans don’t want dinshittie bro
