[Cracks fingers and knuckles. Pulls up Spotrac for the first time in a month]

Was this a known possible outcome? Has he not been good for them or something?

  3. jbenson255

I mean there’s always a need for elite shooting i wonder where he ends up

  4. Shoddy-Media2337

Idk the asking price but you’d have to imagine the Bucks try to make this work

Jrue, Buddy, Khris, Giannis, Lopez is a beautiful 5

  5. batmans420

I understand but I’m going to miss him 😔

There could be your KPJ move right there. Contracts align, and Buddy would give the Rockets the kind of shooting they really desperately need….and the Pacers can add more assets to their treasure chest.

Buddy’s shooting talent to this day still goes underrated because he’s not the all-around player some of the other great shooters are, but he’s an incredible one, and he has improved his all around game the last few years. He’s not a defensive zero anymore and he makes more plays when run off the line these days.

Buddy was viewed as overpaid while in Sacramento, but his deal is a solid one now. A decent chunk of change so it won’t be the easiest to move off of, but it’s certainly manageable. Have to think a good chance a deal is done before the season.

This is great news for Mathurin, Nembhard, just to clear up the glut at the guard spot in Indiana. I think there’s a really good chance we see both Nembhard and Mathurin start now with Brown and McConnell off the bench.

Buddy Hield has been in trade negotiations since he was in the womb.

  8. Wow Buddy Hield being overpaid and wanting a trade, how weird and new.

Dude would be awesome in so many situations. I’m going to be sad to see him go.

  10. MinnyPuppies

Somehow and some magic he’ll end up a lakers.

Or bill simmons: buddy hield shouldnt be traded for Heat and here’s why but first my friend, pearl jam.

I’m kinda fascinated by the possibility of a Hield trade getting folded into the Dame deal, with Indiana getting Herro.

May I interest you in a package of Boucher, Thad and a slightly used Malachi Flynn?

  13. rubberneck24

If he doesn’t get traded pacers fans will finally realize why kings fans soured so hard on him. Absolutely zero effort or any kind of team play. Straight chucking to get his numbers.

  14. Alright, who wants young players with upsides, we got young players with upsides here!

  15. moggar404

Jermaine O’Neal number up for grabs again?

Queue the “Hield to the Lakers” rumors over the next few weeks. A summer tradition going on 5-years now.

  17. WheedMBoise

Buddy Hield, you are a Minnesota Timberwolf!

  18. SacramentoBrowns

I hope for Indys sake they trade him before the season starts, any value he built with them will go down quickly if they let him play

  19. deneuvig

With Myles Turner not on the trade block it’s only fair Hield be on it. The universe had to rebalance

  20. drjisftw

I haven’t been the biggest Hield stan and have angled for a trade for him for a while. He doesn’t fit the timeline and we have too much of a logjam in the backcourt (even if he’s gone, I still think it’s time to let McConnell go).

The problem is though that while he’s not a bad player, he makes just enough money at 19M/yr that he’s both slightly overpaid and hard to trade salary-wise to a contender. Contenders don’t really have 20M in salaries to match. Would love him on the Bucks for example but the contracts just don’t work.

The only trade I’ve seen that works is us taking on KPJ and assets to waive him. I got downvoted to hell for that, but it makes sense.

  21. Buddy is one of the absolute best shooters in the league

Buddy also has some of the worst bball iq I’ve seen

And when Buddy isn’t all-in (like we saw for years in Sac), he is pretty awful doing anything besides shooting the 3.

I mean he’s gonna have a place on a team somewhere, but if it’s in a system that relies on players’ ability to read and react, I doubt he’ll ever be a starter

  22. hidey_ho_nedflanders

Somehow the Lakers are going to trade for Buddy Hield

  23. tripleyothreat

What’s crazy is, Vivek Ranadive, Kings owner, wanted him SO bad, he called it on draft day or something. Like looked at Hield and said, I’m gonnd have you, or something similar

trades the world to get him, then gets rid of him shortly after 😂😂

  24. Drak_is_Right

My guess? The single most interested team is the 76ers.

3 team trade, with Hield (and maybe McConnel), and other things going to the 76ers, Harden going to a 3rd team, and assets unnamed to the pacers.

Wouldnt be surprised if Blazers and 76ers are now tinkering with Hield as part of a multi-team trade to satisfy salary and moving pieces. (blazers obviously dont want him).

As just a fan though its hard to judge Harden’s value. He still is likely going to put up close to 3rd-team all nba numbers this season and maybe up to 2 more but is a malcontent right now that wants traded. Getting the right pieces back to satisfy value and the odds of a championship will be tough for the 76ers.

Lots of team gonna talk with Indy for Buddy. This dude can shoot the lights out.

  26. The_Mootz_Pallucci

Hield and assets for dame, thatd be…interesting

  27. DidiGreglorius

Never understood why he’s constantly in trade talks. Even in todays league 40% from 3 on 8-10 attempts doesn’t grow on trees. I’m happy to have him pretty much whoever I root for.

  28. MrAtlantic

Crazy how he will be 31 this year. Doesn’t seem like it was that long ago that he was at Oklahoma.
