Would rather give them Mann than Joe – Joe is basically younger hield with better iq

No way are we including Joe in that trade…it would have to be Mann Instead + picks

Trading Isaiah Joe in any package that doesn’t bring back a star is brain dead asset management. You have a high quality shooter on a contract worth pennies, that’s a highly valuable asset that any team in the league would want

Just because Buddy is a Sooner doesn’t mean we should overpay to acquire him. He’s a role player at best. I don’t know what he gives us that Joe doesn’t at a fraction of the cost.

How did you manage to mess up so many names in such a short post?

Isaiah Joe is the biggest free agency signing in the history of our franchise. No way we would give him up in a package like this. He’s still young and is an amazing shooter for his contract.

Isn’t buddy Hield just an older more expensive version of Joe

Bro no…
We want Joe and hield

I audibly said fuck off when I saw the title.

No. Hield is great offensively, but would be a liability on defense like he’s been his entire career.

Joe is a more valuable asset than Hield right now because they play a similar role-bench 3P sniper-but Hield is 6 years older and paid 10x as much.
I doubt the Thunder move for Hield because they already have Joe, Micic, Wallace, Wiggins, Mann fighting for the “bench player hitting spot up 3’s” minutes. MAYBE a deadline move if the Thunder are looking like contenders but the 3P shooting is iffy, but I doubt it.

You take that back. I’d rather have Joe

Indy isn’t trading Bertans for Hield. They’d be crazy to do that for lots of reasons.
And why in the world would we give up Joe in the trade on top of that???
1. Jarace Walker. Rookie PF. They’re not putting Bertans in the way of ANY of his development minutes. Or Obi. Or the list could go on and on…they’re stacked at PF/C.
2. Bertans best days are behind him. His value will be highest once his contracts drops to $5MM next year…not where he is currently unless the team he’s traded to is trying to shed future salary (which Indy isn’t).
3. Why trade for Hield and then have to give an aging player a big payday…? And in direct competition to Wallace’s development and minutes and potential. The HOPE for Wallace is for him to be LIKE Hield. Only better defensively.

Do not trade Zai!

So as I understand it, the Thunder should do this trade because we’re willing to pay more for Hield, a reasonable older more expensive facsimile of Joe, because it gets out from under the Bertans contract? Or something? Because this looks like a salary dump to me, and I think Joe is too good to be included in such a deal.

Joe can do what Hield does but is on a better contract and is half a decade younger.

Buddy makes far too much money for what he is. Not sure he’s a culture fit either. Could be wrong.
