Kerr: “Signing Dario was huge. He is really a kind of player that fits us well. Kinda like Bjelica. He’s a different player than Beli, but a similar style with his ability to connect the game with shooting, passing, awareness. Dario is bigger than Beli. He’s gonna fit us as a 5 or in a 2-big lineup”

Bjeli is such a good passer. Last yr, really missed a big man who knows how to pass. His full court pass to JK on the Josh Green poster made it to the highlights but that was nowhere as one of his best assists that season. 2nd best passing big man that season after Draymond

Bjeli was such a good rebounder too. Going from him, OPJ and GP2 to DiVincenzo, half a season of JGreen, Lamb and Kuminga was such a big difference. In 2022 we had Bjeli and OPJ both averaged 9.3 TRB/36 min, GP2 at 7.1, and some Kuminga at 7.1 while in 2023, you had a bit of JGreen (9.3), Lamb (6.5), DDV (6.2), Kuminga (6.0). It was slightly masked by Looney going from 2.5 to 3.3 ORB/game, but the DRB went down from 2nd in the league to 7th in the league, and opponents ORB/game went from #6 to #20!! Those extra possessions make such a huge difference, especially in the playoffs.

All that said and…we still outrebounded the Lakers for the series, but they basically got double the FTA and shot better percentages from all over the floor.

If Trayce really impressed the coaches then yeah sign me up. If they want to beef up the front court even more they should find another big man who can score and be a lob threat since Dario plays more of a 4 than a 5. Just want some more defensive rebounding.
