Dan Le Batard believes the Heat will resist overpaying for Damian Lillard at 33 years old and thinks Toronto won’t surpass them in bidding “Toronto didn’t want to pay Kyle Lowry, favorite son, after 35. They’re gonna pay this guy after 35?”

I’d rather overpay if it gives us a big three of Jimmy, Dame, and Bam. Spos gotten the most of every role player we should stop worrying so damn much about the depth and get the best players you can for the best coach in the league

The idea that any trade where dame comes to Miami to play with jimmy & bam is an overpay is insane to me. I get it you want to be smart in negotiations but at the end of the day if you have dame bam and jimmy you’ve won any trade

Great point, but what the mouth doin? 👀

Y’all remember that Barry Jackson tweet during the Beal saga where he said the heat wanted to get Beal and dame

  5. Dame at 35 is probably better than Kyle ever was. Not a good argument

overpaying and paying seriously at all is a thing

Imagine having the chance to pair Dame with Jimmy Butler and Bam only to fumble everything because you were a cheapskate when it came to making an offer for the dude who will more than likely carry you to the championship.

The opportunity to land Dame is right in front of you but I guess the future is the priority.

    Crazy times.

There’s a little bit of a difference between Damian Lillard and Kyle Lowry.

1 chip is worth whatever comes next.

This is an absolutely ridiculous equivalence

Pat Riley is looking for his magnum opus of a trade and he’s making damn sure it’s either this one or no one.

Oh God, I kinda feel bad for Dame. Bro did everything he could to get to the Heat and now they’re saying ” well we aint gonna over pay” I hope this all negotiation tactics and when push comes to shove, we miss on Dame cause of some boolshit

Toronto can go ahead and ruin their future for a few second round exits. And Portland can go ahead and pretend OG is totally going to sign for them next year. It’s stupid reasoning.

The Heat will be just fine.

Where I am is, they need to have at least offered Jaime. They need to get a return with a player Portland can use and a pick, for trading Herro (which was reportedly what Utah and potentially the Nets were offering).

If the Heat are at 3 1sts, pick swaps, a young player who Portland liked who can play in year 1 and an expiring contract in Lowry, than that, to me is operating and negotiating in good faith. This is more than Portland has done.

Jaime has great potential and I was excited for him playing for the Heat but if they need a young player with potential, you gotta send him. Jovic has a year in the Heat’s developmental system and has a more unique skill set, so I think the Heat need to retain him.

If it takes sending Caleb to the Suns to facilitate Ayton to Portland, again, it should be done. I love Caleb and he was a key to the Heat’s success…but let’s be honest, he’s getting that bag in a year and it won’t be from the Heat.

Curry won a ring and FMVP his age 33 season.

Y’all crazy that want to overpay for Dame. A trio of Jimmy, Bam, Dame doesn’t guarantee a championship.
