My personal opinion: The framework for this deal has been done for a week or so.
I believe the NBA orchestrated all the past few days of media coverage to hype up interest in the new season.
A lot of pundits and reporters got clout this week by pushing a bunch of rumors and innuendo. That’s good for business.
For decades the NFL kicked their ass basically until Christmas but now that the league has become a year round thing with transaction talk dominating the summer they’re right at the top of the headlines.
My prediction is the deal will be announced Friday afternoon between 1-3:30pm for maximum coverage throughout the weekend.

Anyone else have a really bad feeling in their gut? Maybe I’ve just lost all patience right before training camp and media day

I always felt like the Raptors work in silence so all these reports of their interest are probably from the Blazers to drive up Dame’s value.
I also don’t think Masai is dumb enough to gut his roster for a team that probably won’t contend even with Lillard. But who knows at this point?
