The amount of disrespect this man gets is unbelievable…

Watch our defence plummet to the bottom of the league next year when he leaves the team. Y’all don’t deserve OG.

If Masai refused to include him for Dame then we’re obviously re-signing him.

  2. Chambodian

Disrespect? They refused to include him in trades for KD and Lillard. Sounds like the FO respects him and anyone on social media platforms who are upset he wasn’t traded aren’t the majority of Raptors fans and don’t speak for them.

No one here is disrespecting OG. People have a reasonable take on his skillset.

He’s 26 years old entering his 8th season. He may still be “young”, and he can still definitely improve, but I think we are pretty close to seeing what type of player he can be, which is a very elite 3+D player who struggles to create his own shot most of the time.

I don’t think anyone here would mind if we offered him an extension but he won’t take it knowing that he can get more in FA 2024. Paying him near 35-40mil may bite us back in the ass cause we will be very close to the tax (probably over) for most likely a fringe playoff/play-in team.

Yes, offering OG for Dame would’ve killed our defence, but Dame literally raises our offensive ceiling through the roof just cause of his gravity and him being able to bail us out in droughts (that we had so much of last year). In addition, he is on a 4 year contract…if things don’t work out in 1.5 years, we can easily flip him and retain some assets back. A 35 year old Dame in the future will still probably get us more value than a expiring OG right now.

Obviously, we truly don’t know what was offered behind the smoke, but avoiding OG’s pending FA + getting a superstar back would’ve been a low to medium risk with a high reward.

Now we are stuck with 3 of our starters going to FA at their lowest value this year for a potential low seed playoff team still with no direction.

Yeah wanting to trade him for top 5 player in KD or top 12 player in Lillard is disrespectful

Some of y’all aren’t raptors fans just of specific players on this team. I’m realizing this

  5. AdministrativeBat486

3rd year Koloko would have a bigger impact defensively than OG has ever had

  6. Ecstatic-Buy-2907

It’s not disrespectful to include him in deals for superstars

If anything, it shows that you are good enough to be the center piece of a superstar deal

  7. WhatShouldTheHeartDo

We have too many forwards, and are weak in other spots of the roster, our pacing is shit.

we need to convert him to a need for the team, and unfortunately it looks like it has to be him since Scottie wasn’t turned into KD, and Siakam is a whole nother story (Even though I would gamble with trading Pascal for a guard)

  8. forustree

Serge Ibaka had no respect for OG’s fashion sense … especially for scarves

OG (-) FVV = OG feasting

    He should be excited

  9. matthitsthetrails

All we hear about is OG being traded for 3+ 1st round picks or allstar level players who are better than him

  10. XviiChong

No one is disrespecting him. The fact of the matter is he’s an upcoming free agent with no extension or negotiation insight, so why not flip him for some upper end talent, who by the way are top 10 players, and also have longer terms on their contracts.

  11. TinnieTa21

I love how you make this claim, label the post a rant, and only include two sentences that explains absolutely nothing lol.

Many Raps fans are delusional but not for undervaluing players like OG but rather for overvaluing them.

And those of us including myself who think that he should be traded are obviously not saying so because we think he is not good. We think he should be traded because come free agency, there will likely be another team willing to give him more money than this team. How is that so hard to understand? Lmao

  12. Raptors887

OG has spent tons of games injured and our defence isn’t any worse without him.

  13. EchoBay

I wonder if the Sun’s are upset trading Bridges for KD? Nevermind doing him and Cam, which would be like us moving OG and GTJ. I think Bridges is a comparable defender to OG, and having all the same strengths he does. I also don’t think OG has shown any signs of becoming a 25-28ppg kind of guy like Bridges has upon the trade, so he’s even more valuable than OG ever was.

  14. CannaVance

I’ve always had faith in OG. The shit he went through his first few years was unreal

  15. Disrespect? Everyone values his defensive abilities. I have never heard a single person in here doubt that. People wanted to trade him because of an expiring contract where it is unsure he will want to re-sign and there is a lot of interest in the league for him.

  16. KratosSmash

Disrespect? How about overrated? How was he in the most important game of the season against the bulls? Lavine and DeRozan both went off. OG was a no show.

  17. IntroductionNearby71

He’s a diva. Get him off the team. He can play his 55 games a year somewhere else.

  18. notprodigy

I mean, our FO has consistently (and irrationally) valued him higher than anyone else in the league has for years, he’s a great defender and has some flashes on offence but has never had a truly impactful offensive streak – if anything the franchise is higher on OG than is justifiable. They’ll (try to) pay him, but players also like to leave directionless teams that aren’t winning, so…

  19. Machiaveilly

OG is one of the most coveted players in the NBA. That because his overall game is top notch. Some Raps fans don’t know what they have in a player of his caliber and he is only getting better.

  20. BKBance

    Because fuck offense right

Dame is a better player in a position of dire need and would immediately be the best offensive player we’ve had since Kawhi

  21. bart_cart_dart_eart

Raps fans thinking they’re better Raps fans than other Raps fans. Since 95

  22. Barnicus53

I don’t see it as disrespect that people don’t believe someone who’s a great defensive player, but is limited offensively and still wants a bigger role on that end, probably isn’t worth a long term investment.

  23. damorec

He’s an excellent role player. If you value him more then that then you’re simply wrong. On the offensive side of the ball he doesn’t generate anything himself. Bad handles. Bad finisher. He can hit open 3s. His on ball defence is excellent. Does he fit all defensive schemes, no.

  24. LawrenceMoten21

He awesome when he’s not in street clothes.

    Which is hardly ever.

  25. IndigoRivers

Not trading him. You trade him and you have to get another one

  26. OsamaGinch-Laden

Where was this energy for Scottie over the past year?

  27. Donuthole911

Well on a side note I’m still buying OG cards for my collection so hmu lol

  28. JCrockON

…. OG can’t bring us a championship so trading him for someone might. Easy as that I also like OG but I want to see Raptors win more.

  29. Rakkuuuu

Man, our guys are so great. They just get shit on because of the expectations since we don’t have that one player on our team like half the teams in the league seem to have.

  30. SpecialPressure9983

pascal and scottie are disrespected if anything.

  31. brianmmf

I’ve seen little to no disrespect of OG by fans, in this forum, or anywhere.

  32. ExpeditiousTurtle

I feel like he’s been off the hook for a while ngl

  33. TrueTorontoFan

is it disrespectful to say he is an extermely elite role player who would start on basically every team but maxes out as a third option?

  34. macandcheese_19

I mean him getting included in trade talks means he’s valuable, masai clearly loves him

  35. Weezyfbabyfbaby

you’re delusional my friend touch grass

  36. elcabeza79

Disrespect? His GM woudn’t put him in a trade for Dame. That seems like a lot of respect to me.
