Solid think piece… You can asked 20 fans about Kuminga “what do you see?” in the prospect and get 20 different answers. Folks forget that his role last season was heavily impacted by not having Belli and OPJ but basically anything Folks say as a downside for Kuminga often boil down to “hey that’s kinda not his fault” (Kerrs utilization of him and lineup madness) or “you do remember he’s 20.”
I get folks projecting “what’s most useful to us right now” and following Kerrs narratives. Some of its working through being a 19 year old rookie and just learning when we had OPJ and Belli to support his downhill finishing style… he had the highest scoring rate of any rookie in the GREAT 2021 class. (Tbh only Poole and Ja and Lamelo were ahead of him in the 3 draft classes). Folks said small sample… 1100 minutes is not a small sample.
It’s not about stats either its about impact and the requirement of other teams to account for too many things for them to handle.
This year Kuminga brushes up on 40% from deep… and becomes a player many folks don’t expect him to be. Alpha predator wing. If CP3 breathes the right guidance into him… Kuminga may actually be this seasons X factor.
If we win a ridiculous amount of games (say 60)… Kuminga will be one of the main reasons.
HeirKuminga
The vibe this offseason feels like everyone’s doing their training to improve before the big tournament like a manga. We even got the bad guy turned good guy (Vegeta) with CP.
Expecting big things from JK this season. Warriors 2nd units gonna run a simpler offense with CP that’s gonna unlock him and his athleticism.
