Excellent article on the situation from both sides, worth subscribing if you have the means to support independent journalism. Here’s a quote:
“The great irony of this summer’s ugliness and bad feelings is that both Lillard and the Blazers come out of it in much better positions than they were in at the end of the season. Lillard didn’t get to Miami, but he wound up in an even better basketball situation in Milwaukee, and now has the best chance to contend that he could ever hope for. And Cronin has a pretty enviable starting point for a rebuild with Henderson, Shaedon Sharpe and Deandre Ayton.“

>”Both Lillard and the Blazers now get a fresh start, too. When training camp opens on Monday, the focus in Portland will be on Henderson, Ayton and Shaedon Sharpe, not on the awkwardness of an unhappy Lillard still in town. The focus in Milwaukee, Lillard’s new home, will be on a championship and nothing else.”
Yes. I’ve never seen a trade – let alone a three-way one – be as positive and impactful for all three teams as this one. Props to all three front offices in architecting this. I was initially sad to see Dame ago, but now I am super happy for him and his chances, and also for our fledgling Blazers as well. The future looks bright. 😎
