It was broadly expected that San Francisco would secure a WNBA expansion team but that means there is only one slot left in this round (the WNBA Commissioner was clear they were only looking to add two teams now).
Will be very curious to see where the second team is awarded.
I have heard there are reservations at the WNBA offices about the rapidly declining Canadian economy and may look to revisit the Toronto option in 4-5 years as opposed to now.
Thoughts? Our family attended our first WNBA game this year (in Seattle). It was a great summer event!

Would love a WNBA team in Toronto
If there is a fanbase and the team will be profitable, sure.
If it’s just a charity, nah.
I personally don’t watch WNBA and probably wouldn’t even if Toronto had a team.

I think a WNBA team is viable as long as they’re winning. It might be a great thing for the women’s basketball program as well to it means inspiring the next generation of women ballers, similar to Vince’s impact when he was here.
If the interest is there then sure.
