Well call me a pessimist, but I see Miami's window officially closed. The Bucks have now officially locked the East. Barring a catastrophe, it's hard to see any team from the east toppling them. It's like the 90's all over again, where Miami fought tooth and nail just to beat NYK, only to meet the real juggernaut of the East in Chicago.
Also, as much as I love his game, I don't trust Jimmy 100%. He is such an oddball talent that doesn't view the league through the same competitive lens as other superstars. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes disruptive and Miami is forced to move him.
Miami also will probably weigh options at trade deadline. There are always unhappy stars by then that will move easily and can be traded for less

Boy Wonder is a very good player and will get better. What you are saying about him possibly going to Portland was pure speculation. Until some one comes out from our front office to give us a run down on what happened we can only guess. Pat earlier said he didnt want to blow up the team. We are very good and young. As a NYer (but not a Knicks' fan), I've softened my criticism of the Knicks trading for 'Melo. He wanted to be there and they wanted him. Even though he gutted his supporting cast, as I see more and more of these stars forcing their way out to where they want, it's on the organization to make it enticing for the contract holding team to negotiate with them. I get not giving away too much without competition but sometimes you have to put everything together early to secure what you want.

At first, was disappointed in the Heat. However, when you read the reports from Chris Haynes who is really close to Dame, they were never going to trade him to Miami. Instead of Portland being professional and getting as much as they could from the Heat, they ignored their calls and got a worse deal for their organization. Dame even wanted to come back if not traded to the Heat. Dame was loyal to Portland and instead of rewarding that loyalty they screwed him over.
I would feel better if Milwaukee gave up more than what Miami was willing to offer. But the fact that they gave up the less adds insult to injury.

Only a fool makes a move out of desperation, allowing their emotions to trump logic. This is not NBA2K. It is extremely obvious that Cronin was NEVER going to make a deal with Miami. Cronin let his ego get in the way of making a deal with Miami. Cronin did not want to be told what to do and let it become personal. The Miami Heat will be fine because they are a well run organization. Tyler Herro will have an All Star caliber year and Portland will still suck….Historically, Portland is horrible at evaluating talent. They are the same organization that picked Bowie over Jordan and Oden over Durant. The Heat still have Jimmy and Bam, and now an even more motivated Herro. Spo is still our Head Coach. We will be fine. LETS GO HEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Blazers are in full rebuild mode, but in spite of that they're asking for two older, expensive players? Sounds like spin by the Heat FO.
When Lillard and his team went public that they only wanted to go to the Heat, they gave the Blazers FO a giant middle finger. This move handcuffed the Blazers and gave the Heat the impression that they could get Lillard on the cheap because Lillard eliminated any competition for Dame. Would you want to reconcile with Dame if he did this to you? Dame and his team are the villain here.
Everything swirling around in the aftermath of this trade is the interested parties attempting to spin and control the narrative. Never forget this.

There's nothing he can do to end them because you casuals value players who put up stats on bad teams more than you value players who play within a system. A Herro trade would be far more beneficial for him than it would be for the Heat.
Aside from Miami, in what world does a team value a player who can't even create his own shot and then reward him with a max contract? Bam doesn't even guard the other team's best players – that's been PJ Tucker and Caleb Martin's role the past few years. If you've ever seen him taking on defensive assignments you'd know players abuse him. He can't guard 1-5 and needs to focus on learning to guard one position before he can move on to another.

I do agree with you on your assessment of Tyler. He Tyler need too do that little more to separate himself from those potential replacements like giving more better effort on defense. Not saying he has to be a Jue Holiday type defender but know when to take off in periods of the game on offense and move his feet being quicker to spots on the floor working a little more harder on defense or else he's just a little less dynamic scorer than a James Harden or Carmelo Anthony !!!!!!!!!!!!!
